Ooh goodie, more stuff to kill with my minigun :) *cue random question* Does anyone know if it would be possilbe to get the combine soldier (model) to use the citizen's animations? (theoretically could let them fire sweps, but I have a feeling its been tried before and didn't work).
I've got a possible suggestion if you don't mind. Instead of separating the mix of npc's into individual npc's into squad entities, why not just separate them individually under the NPC tab as if they were new ones?

I'll put the combine air vehicles in the NPC tab and leave all the groups as groups. [editline]20th December 2011[/editline] If anyone wants this to happen, they have to tell me how. Otherwise it's not happening. From what I gather by looking at other addons it's not possible to put my NPCs in the NPC tab. The game thinks they're entities and that's what it needs in order for me to set all the custom behaviors. If you can tell me how to put SENTs in the NPC tab, that would be wonderful.
Can you post a video of this addon? I want to see it in action.

Fourth version is out, not much changed cept for the addition of solo air vehicles and some bugfixes. Derp.

Or just hostile to everything? what[/QUOTE] hostile to ALL the things! course there are alignment switchers out there which usually work for custom npcs. i like the "hold e to make hostile" idea though. then i'd have those extra 4 pistol shots when i'm firing blindly through clouds of blood :D
Alright, new version out. Just added the ability to spawn the hacks as hostile (hold E while clicking to do so). Happy getting-raped. Also fixed a bug where deleting them caused console errors. Also added a neato system to make sure that the individual air vehicles' fly-to nodes wouldn't form a path that was blocked by objects, so now they can navigate smaller more obstacle-filled maps better. Like gm_construct.

Could there maybe be a scaled-down version of the combine spawner? 29 is kinda a lot, my poor compy lags when they spawn sometimes, maybe kinda like a larger version of the Combohyperleet squad you have already. Also, has anyone run into an odd error that sometimes happens when an entity from one of these squads dies and the game crashes? Or is that just gmod's usual instability?

New idea: What if you could do the Hold E + Click entity to spawn as opposite alliance from the player for all entities? Example: Hold E + Click the rebels to spawn them as enemies.
Seventh version. I have no idea what's causing the crashes on helicopter destruction but it's never happened to me... the helis had the [i]most[/i] unoptimized timers, so I fixed them all for version seven. I doubt that will fix the crashes but you should still try it :( Now you can change ALL the allegiances! If you hold E while clicking you can spawn any group with opposite feelings about PLAYERS. To completely change their entire allegiance would require big AddEntityRelationship timers on every individual etc etc. A few groups will also be friendly toward citizens, but the problem is that citizens will not be friendly toward them, so it's kinda pointless. Just know that it works fine for players. I also fixed the errors involving the mechrebels. Also: Gee, it sure is bitter-no-life-power-abusing-admins in here.
After installing this addon and trying it out, I must say, it's fucking amazing. These OpSquads ACTUALLY PUT UP A GOOD FIGHT, which is good, because back then, when I was dealing with the old gmod NPCs, they pretty much sucked donkey balls as soldiers. Also, the ability to change their alligences is also really useful. And the death zombies are a really nice touch. Edit: Also, I don't have the "hunter chopper destruction crash" issue that everyone's talking about.

It's kind of depressing that no one ever told me that the headcrab pods throw lua errors and fail to throw debris upon impact. I've been working on the explosives all this time so I hadn't noticed. Fixed version out, if anyone cares.
Suggestion from me as well. I've no idea if this is actually possible, but NPCs being alligned with specific teams in gamemodes would allow for a kind of Tug-o-War game ala Starcraft in big enough maps. Players could run with their NPC allies, and engage in massive fights... shit, I've gotta do that!
