I'd suggest a lot of blue stahli songs, most don't have lyrics or anything, and newgrounds is also a viable option, and maybe a few motorstorm apocalypse soundtracks

I [b]love[/b] Blue Stahli. iPod is full of it. But I'm going to try to stick to game songs because if I open up to mainstream media then I think personal tastes will have too much an effect and people won't like that.

Have you thought of using any of the models or effects? You may want to replace the hyper elite combine with outbreak models, to give things more variation, the whole thing is ripe with content to use, :D

Here is a list that came to me and forgotten.
Fog system ( See enemies with less viability ) ( Helps Zombies and Antlions allot )
Remove npcs within a certain distance so wont gather lag ( Optional )
Special Types of Bosses. For Example :
[B]Antlions Boss [/B]
[I]Antlion Knights[/I]
Enabled to Summon Antlions, Shoot out projectiles, and Diamond Skin ( It can deflect bullets away and be unaffected ) ( Explosives are more effective to this boss ) ( A.K.A. Jackarunda Explosion pack. )
[B]Combine Boss[/B]
[I]Predator Hunter[/I]
Shoot Lasers, Call down Artillery Headcrab Canisters rising havoc, After Death Unleashes a large amount of energy, turning completely invisible.
[B]Zombie Boss Wave[/B]
[I]Horde Wave[/I]
Survive 30 minutes of Overwhelming Zombie forces.
[B]All at the same time Boss[/B]

Interesting.
Right now, honestly, I'm writing algorithms to make zombies WORK. It's tough.
There are two kinds of maps this can be played on.
1. something like gm_flatgrass with the survivors huddled in the middle of some shipping containers. The zombies spawn way out in no-man's land and run toward the base. This configuration already works very well.
2. playing with no extra props on a map like cs_office. The zombies spawn in the corridors and courtyards that you can't see. This is... giving me trouble. The map itself is so convoluted that I'm having a really hard time getting zombies to not spawn in inaccessible areas.
This is what's taking all of my time right now.
Does anyone have any experience with aiscripted_schedules or scripted_sequences or info_targets or something? I need to leverage the zombies' own pathfinding abilities, becaue my Lua artificial pathfinding scripts aren't useful in complex situations.

It's not that I lack the ability to make a robust pathfinding script, it's just that the better I make it the more it lags. I need to use something built-in. If no one can get this we may not be able to play on structured maps like the CS maps and such.

Ok well, I've gotten spawning to work right on cs_office, you just have to choose the battlefield radius so that it excludes cs_office's few inaccessible areas. Just had a nice 4-room battle and lost at wave 14 when I got cocky.
Without pathfinding, on complex maps, it's more of a "hunt down the zombies" mode than it is a "survive an assault" mode. On flatgrass it IS a survival mode because every zombie has the script that guides him toward and around the outside of your fort (and inside if he can get there).
All good.
You'll be starting and you'll think: oh hell this is easy. Every wave I get tons of shit and only a few zombies.
Then after a while you find that you're being overwhelmed because you neglected to build a barrier, thinking you could go toe-to-toe with the horde at higher levels. Wrong. The number of zombies and number of zombies at a time increase exponentially as the waves pass. You're able to scavenge some objects between waves; do not neglect to build some kind of fallback barrier.
Playing with the NPCs can crash the game after while, what might be the problem?
Try this map for size i think you will like this one.

And if people want to DL that map and use my survival mode on it, sure. In my survival mode you have limited flashlight battery. And zombies naturally spawn around you, so they will come from the darkness.

Uh, I really don't know, sorry. I've had long sessions playing with them, but crashes are common in gmod.

Actually I went to play Skyrim right, then as I was playing I was like "wow, Skyrim's sprinting effects are pretty cool"
...
So I came back and added a new sprint and walk viewbob/FoVSetting system + new footstep sounds

Then I shoveled 6 wheelbarrowfulls of gravel from one part of the yard to the other

Only thing left is to figure out a different way to transfer data than usermessages. UMSGs are stupid as all hell.
