It's fun to spawn like 10 of them and see how long can survive
yeah, i added 8 horrors in a very dark area and played the Resident Evil theme. It creeped the shit out of me

We used to have some good times doing Horror RP, I'm surprised there arnt more servers that do it, all I see in this range are zombie RP (which are fun, but not really scary) servers.
Then again, Horror RP only really works with a few select people, any more than 4 or so is too many and it loses it's feel. Also need someone to set everything up prior and during the RP. Unfortunately, most (server)admins don't have the knack or will to attempt this.
One of my (used to be) regular players had a a slightly weak spine, and freaked the shit out in one of our Horror RP, hid in a house for 20 minutes before I decided to coax him out (scary exosounds ftw) which caused him to quit the game lol. He came back eventually though. Good times.
Recently had a listen server party with some friends, did a zombie RP one this time around, started with us in a bar, couple of passed out NPC's at the chairs, us having some good laughs, then the news came on the TV (youtube player addon ftw) in which the news explained strange shit was happening (Dawn Of The Dead news clips lol) as we began to hear moaning coming from the inner city, the sound of shuffling feet echoing in the distance, stray bursts of gunfire around the city....ah the beginning of a great night.
To sum it up: There needs to be more story based RP servers that have the (server)admins improving the RP (in what I call "RP Director" mode, flying around invisible doing what's required for the RP to function smoothly), not trying to ban rule breakers (thus playing with good players you know is kind of required). Maybe Gmod12 (one can only hope) will bring in another round of these kind of people. Been playing Gmod for quite a few years and I only know of 2 that ever did it with any success.

Would be alot of downtime in the video, as I'm the one flying around keeping the RP moving, though I do occasionally drop down as a person when required.
What I really need is NPC spawn platforms for the custom NPC packs, that would take away a huge part I have to do, which is spawning NPCs. It's nearly impossible for me to do that when I RP with them as I can only spawn things where I'm looking, and one thing I HATE, is having an NPC just "pop" infront of them, another reason I like Silent Hill is the fog prevents this for the most part, and is another reason I like the Horror NPC alot: It Starts out invisible.
All of that though is based upon our trust factor, they won't spawn NPC themselves (generally at my request) as it ruins any endangerment they might have (alot of the time we make it so the respawn timer is set to 99999, thus once you die, your out, for the Horror or zombie RP types, others and it's too tedious and boring, such as post-apoc, considering I temp-ban anyone that dies, leaves, and comes back again, not that they do anyways) and it ruins the mood for them if they have to spawn it.

If we want deep (thought out well before hand) planned stories that evolve into week long chains (going from one map to another according to what we are doing in the RP) in which the players actually want to know more of the story, and actually RP, and not "talk to people while we drive around town looking for a fire, or, plan to take out the cops with our ubaleet gang" we play on mine.

Anyways, as an example of a chain it would work a little like this:
Zombie RP, all the story aside (for the sake of this example), it started in gm_bigcity, went to the outskirts of the city (evocity1 - night) left through the forest after being swarmed, traveled through the forest as dawn broke (gm_reaction), we later found ourselves lost in a foggy forest (stalker redux map, forgot the full name), made our way through the fog to a town shrouded in it (silent hill), lost one of our team (he had to go) in the fog, upon finding a truck, the remaining survivors loaded up and drove out of the town, realizing that the zombies had been chasing them since they left the city (which never dawned on them till then despite the fact I hinted at it all day lol) they thought upon why, and where they would go next, on the radio they heard of a safe haven from the storm of zombies, only knowing the roads to take they drove off in search of this haven...
That was one of our actual zombie RP's, one of our more advanced ones, it had alot going on but for the sake of not making you read for 2 hours I kept it short, we did that one in one day (a rarity), think it took us 14+ hours before we decided to go to bed, never did finish that one though.

To save myself and in attempt to stay on topic of this thread: Does anyone know what is with the folders in the pack for NPC's that arnt spawnable? One I saw was for a "giant" hell knight, separate from the normal one (which does work for me).
Edit: Someones a little happy with the heart rating it seems.
i love the fast zombie alot and all the scary snpcs are really REALLY good in either
1.a dark room/corridor
2.at night
3.when i turn on fog in a field (day or night) you dont know which way there coming from

That sounds awesome. I wish I could find RP servers like that. The closest I can find are TnB servers, but I'm never on those when something interesting is happening.
As for the pack, fantastic work. The new animation are awesome, but the Horror NPC is one of my favorites. Playing on zm_bluevelvet with four of those running around is really friggin scary.
