Sticky pumps is what I dubbed the fact for me I couldn't turn on or off the pump feature of the Supply Connectors.
Updating the supply connector with the tool to remove/add the pump or with the wire inputs?
Okay.. I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong with both LS2 and RD2.
Okay I have installed both (from zip) into garrysmod/garrysmod/addons so that they are now in the folders:
garrysmod/garrysmod/addons/RD2
garrysmod/garrysmod/addons/LS2
Then I've installed SB2 into
garrysmod/garrysmod/gamemodes/Spacebuild2
Now the Tab in the upper right corner from LS2 is loaded but inside of it there is only RD2 things, and it seems really wierd like some of the things are missing.
Under the normal tools list I can find Life Support but if I click on it, it just shows an empty list where the devices are supposed to be.
Spacebuild2 is running perfectly though.
Lua Error:
When starting up:

When shooting with the "empty" tool from RD/LS:
[Lua] RD: GetClientInfo('type') is nil![/lua]
I've uninstalled all the gamemodes I don't need, and same with addons.
Could anyone explain to me what I'm doing wrong?

Ack there is wire inputs? I didn't realize this.

You got an out of date version of either LS2 or RD2 (or both).
Latest released LS2 ZIP file is 1.0.2 (which should have this problem fixed).

Nope newest version of both!
Ive been stopped by the "you need resource distribution 2" message as well...
I have all the latest versions, but it stil gives me the message when I (attempt to spawn) something from lifesupport, etc...
it also gives my usless tools like "liv #devtool" (just from memorym it is a useless tool with symobls and letters in the name).
is there still no fix?

Check for older versions of RD, LS, and SB. They may be conflicting.
I have the same problem too. But when I update Resource Distribution2 in S_V_N, it says that it's the update from September 07 =(
get the ZIP then? I'm not exactly sure what your talking about, I got the zip and it works fine for me.
Hi, i get this error when i try to spawn anything
weapons\gmod_tool\stools/life_support.lua:74: attempt to index global 'ent' (a nil value)
and a text says: Pleasy download resourse distribution addon...
but i just downloaded RD2!

You downloaded an old version of life support, you need to atleast have Life Support 2.
Not Life Support Hydrogen Systems, that version is a pre Life Support 2 one!
hey snake, is luapine still working on CDS? I hope he at least smartens up enough to use a non-force damage system.
Linking up multiple LS things causes console spam and a huge FPS drop, the console spam/FPS drop only appears when you actually look at your linked up LS stuff. Currently using up-to-date SVN versions of LS2 and RD2
The infinite spam:
CMaterial::DrawElements: No bound shader
CMaterial::DrawElements: No bound shader
CMaterial::DrawElements: No bound shader
RD2 has been working great for me for a while but lately there has been an error preventing me from unlinking LS objects.
I have a large energy storage hooked to 4 small energy storages. When I press 'r' on the the first one it delinks but still displays the value of all of them conjoined. Pressing it again makes it display just its value but when I go to the second one I get the error ->
"RD2/sv_resource2.lua:96 attempt to index local 'net' (a nil value)"
Currently using up-to-date SVN versions of LS2 and RD2
No it's not if your getting "CMaterial::DrawElements: No bound shader"
No it's not if your getting "CMaterial::DrawElements: No bound shader"
Guess so, since deleting and reinstalling the RD SNV helped, thanks! :)
put tags in the files of garysmod.org
We don't really need garrysmod.org when we have SVNs, just use those.
No it's not if your getting "CMaterial::DrawElements: No bound shader"
I just updated through SVN about 25 minutes ago and I'm still getting the "CMaterial::DrawElements: No bound shader" spam whenever I look at anything that involves RD or LS. I've deleted and updated a few times, but it's just not helping.

Must be another addon then.
Could you fix the resource debugger? :3
Could you fix the resource debugger? :3
Why do you need it? It should have been removed a long time ago :v:
Might as well delete it from the SVN then, waste of KB :)
Did the Cutoff Valves get fixed?
There was an odd bug with them that made them generate 1 resource/second after they were turned off with with a wire button.
They've always been a little buggy anyways, and that's kept me from using them effectively.
I'll check again just to make sure, but if you guys could take a look too, just to make sure, it would be MUCH appreciated!
Thanks!
Ok I think I figured out why the Cutoff valves give free resources!
Here's the setup.
Resource Cache ---- Cutoff ---- Resource cache ---- Supply connector ==== Resource Cache.
Apparently, a cutoff valve is exactly like a conditional like, which is exactly what it was designed to do.
The problem is when you have 2 resource caches between them, then try to pump one dry. When you empty one, both of the caches get equalized, the bug happens when you get down to 2 resources, one for each of the caches.
Since it appears that you can't have less than one resource, when you empty the cache being pumped out, the other cache still registers a 1, since it can't be 0.5 the cutoff supplies the other cache with 1 resource to balance things out.
Another possibility is that they cache is "rounding up" the internal supply, but I think that would be relatively unlikely.
This would explain why you get one free resource every interval, using that setup.
A solution would be to have the cutoff valve, when encountering a "0.5 possibility", to simply eat the last 1 resource (call it a loss in the system, etc.).
Anyways I think I'll probably post this on the other site for LS also.
I have the SVN version of RD2 (revision 10)
How about not announcing the bug and let people move on? That would be nice.
Edit:
How about not announcing the bug and let people move on? That would be nice.
-snip-
because
[lua]
factor = amount / max
for each net = n do
net[n].amount = math.round( net.max * factor)
end
[/lua]
Problem is that:
1/200 = .005
100 * .005 = .5
round(.5) = 1
Fixing this will be tricky and there can be more than 2 nets. If anyone knows some maths that could solve this, that would really help as I don't really have the time right now to fix it.
Oh ok Tad, no problem, I figured it was something like that.
Maybe a "floor" or a "round down" so that it ends up with Zero, I don't know Lua so I don't know if it would work like that.
Anyways it's not a fatal bug, and exploiting it won't give you much. I just felt like being useful.

How about I point out the bug, and you move on. That would be nice.
Move on to what?
Is it RD 2.5 or 3 out on Public SVN?

Then it would be leaking down instead.
Is it RD 2.5 or 3 out on Public SVN?
Just 2
Ah... leaked...
I guess it would be a matter of preference if it leaked down, it should leak to Zero, but only when there one resource left right?
It should then stop "leaking" once it hits zero... I don't see a problem with this.
Is there a bit of code I could tweak to try this out?
Could I replace math.round, with math.floor or something equivalent? (I don't know lua)
