RD2 - SVN version I think.
Is RD3 available in a working version?
Anyone got any ideas on where or what I need to edit to fix it so it adds ZPE energy to CutOff Valves? From what I can tell from the Manifest.lua (which may or may not be the correct place to look.) The lua script does not have any physical listing of the resources, it merely loops through them from an external source like from another LUA or something. Surely if that was the case, then it would pick up the ZPE?
I tried following the functions back into their included files and such, and checked the other associated files in LS2 and RD2, but found no mention of resources by their names, at least no meaningful ones.
Is it just my SVNs or is the entire wiremod SVN down? Just becuase it keeps on saying that there is an error whenever I try and update this, Stargate or Wire.
Hmm, make sure you put "/" as the last character in the svn address. It came up in the wiremod forums about the wiremod svn. The address won't work right unless it ends in a "/".
Resource Distribution Cut-Off Valve does not seem to transfer ZPE (Zero Point Energy) from ZPM's from Avons mod.
Anyone know what file to edit to get this working?
I'm guessing just need to add an extra resource name to the LUA.
The ZPM must be connected to a energy cell. Then you link the energy cell to the cutoff valve.
the svn is not working :/
The SVN seems to have rolled back to revision 10; any reason why?

Dunno. I have no intention on maintaining that version anymore, I'm currently working on a new system that's not over a year old. New system will be for the next year and on, for all the projects to come.
Um I'm trying to use the supply connector and when I connect it I get an error message and my resource won't transfer, what am I doing wrong?
Okay so i was playing Spacebuild last week and having fun building some stuff in single player. Well, i work for a week and get on today on my day off, and launch spacebuild. I go to make the finishing touch of my second Climate Regulator, and my previous regulator is gone. I had double-saved so it wasnt that I forgot to save. Anyway, thats not the issue, so i go into the menu to spawn another regulator, and it's not in the menu anymore!
So, i switch to my tool gun and the climate regulator is still the spawned-entity selected (from my previous play) and i try and spawn it and i get the error
"RD2\RD2_Tools.lua:253:RD2: unable to find make function for 'climate_control'"
since this appeared to be an RD2 error, i figured id just exit game, delete RD2 and reinstall it. which is exactly what i did. and i tried again, and nothing. so, whats going on? did gmod do some kinda update that borked up RD2 or something? or did the lua script get messed up somehow? just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else and how to fix this

Are you using SVN?
Are you using SVN?
Yeah I'm using SVN but it Isn't connecting to the site, and the Resource Distribution site says there is no SVN update anyway.
Sounds like it's time to upgrade to SB3. Search glua.net.
Wow, didn't know they released version 3. Thanks for the tip Naga.
I'm working on the sequel to RD2 right now: http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/showthread.php?p=11975871
Prepare your asses for new functionality :science:

A word of warning: MANY people doesn't like RD3 for it's overcomplicated things.
Unfortunately, RD2 no longer works properly for the latest GMod.
So as of now, there is no other choice if you want to still use LS to its fullest.
Uh, RD2 works beautifully on my server. Disregard that it says LS3, I put it on that for a day and was absolutely disgusted by it and am too lazy to change it back.

Who said that?! :argh: Let's lynch him for lying and trying to coherence people into using RD3!!!

They took it down so that people would feel pressured to use the inferior (in my opinion at least) 3 stuff.
It may be inferior, but it seems to run much smoother, which is all that matters to me. I don't care if its new system is shit, it just has to be less laggy.
What's more fun? Playing SB2 at 10 fps or playing a more complex SB3 at 30-60 fps?

RD2 cannot be causing that. It's 90% server side with almost no data being sent to clients. What everyone is noticing is the difference between the later version of LS2 and the in development LS3. The only issue I can see RD2 is one of the tables isn't properly cleaned up and can cause an overflow, but that seems to takes would over 5 hours to happen.
I've did a test on RDx yesterday on my server over the interwebs. I wanted too see at what point it starts to lag up the server. I had 500-600 power generators spawned all over the ground, not linked so they each were acting as a single network (stuff like that gets pooled to the network to save cpu) before CPU usage became an issue and my ping went from 9-12 to 19-22. But I could not tell if it was the 500-600 networks thinking or the nearly 600 phys props piled around and unfrozen causing my tick rate (which I had set at 120) to drop making my thread scheduler get behind, making it look like the net thinks were causing it. In any case, you're never going to have 500 separate networks at a single time; over a hundred doesn't even seem likely.
Yeah, I have low FPS too. gm_new_world is running on 12 FPS without anything spawned. It has to be addon- or map-specific, 'cause the standard setting (construct on sandbox) has over 30. Also, I saw that the console is spammed with the same error over and over again; it's "no bound shader" or something like that. It always occur when there's more than three things linked together. For example: spawning a fusion generator from LS2 does nothing. But spawning and linking three wind generators to a large energy cell hits the FPS quite hard, but only when I'm looking at them, otherwise nothing. It isn't LS2-specific as the same happens with a ZPM and two Staff Cannons.
I am aware that RD2 is mostly Server side, but there is something that is effecting performance. Also, the FPS loss seems to be noticeably apparent on SB levels only, which points to SB2 instead of RD2.
And anyway, the uRD should be coming out.

This is because you're using a very, very old version that didn't have that problem pre-EP2. You'll want to use the 'latest' one:

Also, there is a BIG difference low FPS, lag, and server slowdown (not even sure if that's the right name for it).
Low FPS would only bhe caused by using the old version that has a Material() bug.
Lag would have to be something with LS2 or SB2, RD2 only sends a couple of numbers per network when they change.
Slowdown couldn't be RD2, it does nothing but simple math during normal operation and only when a device makes changes to it's resources.

Hmm, the RD2 couldn't cause the slowdown with the latest versions, but then, the only culprit left is Spacebuild 2.

I blame SnakeSVx, I was only the effects guy on CDS and a few bug fixes.

Or LS2, each of it's ents does it's own stuff on think.
Who was responsible for LS2? I've forgotten.

That is a possibility, but since I am horrible at reading LUA, let alone Java, I can't tell.

Was me too back in the beginning, there weren't any of these issues I'm hearing about now back then, but that was pre-EP2.

Jave? Where'd that come from?
