The folder with the text file called "info" right inside of it MUST be the first folder for that mod. Gmod addons most of the time require a info.txt to work properly.
If that doesn't fix it, you need to a complete reinstall of Gmod, not the "Delete Local Content".

Are you having this problem on the beta or the current version?
Because it seems like for some reasons some of the default functions in garrysmod don't seem to be working for you. This can be caused by either a faulty installation, or possibly because of the Beta to (not sure about this though). If you don't have the beta then delete all local content related to Garrysmod (like the person above me said) and also make sure you redownload the garrysmod GCF.

I had run into the same problem a few minutes ago (after installing LS2 and RD2 on my new PC). I discovered that i had a older version of LS, after removing this it worked. Im probaly talking a load of **** but i think it was because the LS folder was over running the LS2 and couldnt find RD to go with it. If people get the same problem check the folders you have, hope iv helped alittle.
i got almost the sam problem i also get the "need rd" thing, and i have checked for older version too, i can't seem to find the answer nowhere, no one can help me, anyone know a addon/mod that can effect LS/RD?

I tried posting this in the LS2 forum but no one responded so maybe it's a RD2 problem.
Whenever I duplicate or adv. duplicate a vehicle, it can no longer be linked to any RD2 entities. I get the error during duplication that one or more of the entities are not valid RD2 entities.
Is this completely non-functional with the 2007 Beta, or am I doing something wrong?
With the most recent SVN updates for LS2, RD2, and SB2, I'm still getting errors all over the place. A bunch of init errors when I start up, and a massive framerate drop (due to something about an undefined shader) whenever I look at a lifesupport entity. The Link Tool is broken and lacking it's language entries. It's all a mess.
The beta is the only version of Gmod that works for me right now (my computer has decided to hate the older Source engine), so I'm really missing Life Support and Spacebuild. Is there any work being done to fix it up for the beta?

There is being worked on, but it probably won't be released before the beta gets released. I don't know 100% what the status of those fixes are, but I know there is being worked on (dev svn)
An idea for RD3 when the time comes:
For the idea of having resources that are not "liquid through a hose", perhaps there could be something along the lines of generaters that fill barrels or something similar with some type of physical objects and the barrels need to be transported to the components that use the resources. This is just a rough idea and I don't know if anyone else has come up with something better but I thought I'd just throw it out there and see what you guys think.

That was the idea. Since RD2 works by sharing a single table between all liked ents, you would be able to define any type of resource you like as long as you provide the required Make/Merge/Split/Remove functions for the network to work. It would even be possible to make a hub based computer network for communication.
I have installed the mod and can spawn everything, only problem is when I try and link things there is no visible link even though it says there is, even with different widths and material/colour. As it's not linking properly I can't gather any resources ect. Anyone know a fix? Also don't have any mods that conflict with this., only a few model ones, smart snap and ls2.
Edit: Turns out I can gather resources, but still no visible wire and the amount that a storage device has is not showing. staying at 0 when targeted, can only see if it contains anything with a wire screen.
Any help yet? Still have this problem.

I have rd2, no advanced dupe, but I think I might have the old wire, i'll see if removing that helps.
just update it, and remove the svn folders in it, and get the newer wire svn, THEN you'll be in buisness.

With the new version, the link tool now causes a large FPS drop for each link made.
The effect is cumulative, too. I made 3 links, my FPS dropped to 5.

I can't. The link tool doesn't have any settings anymore, and I just get that tool_blah_0 thing as the tool description.

The link is invisible and it has no settings.
Each link cause the game to get slower and slower.
Everything else seems to work though.

Got this from the console as I load my game up. I've been able to fix it by deleting the specified lines but there is no lifesupport tab as my Lua skills do not go that far. If you don't delete the lines then nothing shows up in the menus for the STools.
Just tested my "Hacky" fix on the spacebuild gamemode and it works but they are not on the Lifesupport tab. They are in sections in the tools menu.

I didn't get a menu for the link tool at first but then I restarted after I deleted some lines that came up with errors it came up fine. I am not sure whether it was restarting Gmod that solved it or the bit of editing I did.
The invisible links it true for me to some extent because when I use more than one link the links randomly disappear and reappear as I move around. When this happens I get [code]

That is something different. This is something in an Lua script getting information about something else. Nothing to do with Info.txt
Have you tried getting a new SVN version of life support and resource destribution?
