I have the gm_queryphys.dll in /modules but how do i use SVN and how do i download poly welder :( . I'm confused.
This is win. One of the best tools ever. Thank you.
Duplication still causes crashes for me, with and without the fix posted above.
EDIT:
Ralle's seems to be duplicable and can be grabbed normally with the physgun, maybe use his code?
A great tool, but there is one problem! (not f**king one)
Drag a huge thing for a small ball is not very convenient.
And it can no longer be anything to stick (Thrusters, wiremod stuff).
When welding thrusters drop out.
Can you fix it?

If you had read the thread, you'd know he's working on it.
I just pooped myself. This is pure win.
Oh and the SVN isn't working.
Change link to this, op

nvm, I was missing the dll...
this sounds awesome. i only have one question: i get that this merges the physics meshes of the items used (and at the moment makes moving said object a bit iffy), but if i were to, say, make a ship out of models from the spacebuild expansion pack, would i still be able to walk around in the ship?

Not until we get client-side prediction.

thats strange cause it lets me walk inside the parts. i just cant make it fly =(
Not until we get client-side prediction.
Any idea when that will be?
this is pretty fucking amazing work on this more please
This tool has a lot of potential, but right now it barely does what its supposed to. Just using this causes a crash on certain creations. It also leaves invisible entities in the original weld spot that have collision enabled, which causes some problems as well.
Please work on this more, it has the potential to be really awesome.
Perhaps a prompt that pops up when you try to do so that says, "Are you sure you want to crash the game?"
This is THE FUTURE!!
i'm gonna have some fun with this :quagmire:
Any news on the update to prediction?
I just tested it.
Hollow inside: Passed
Naquadah Bomb Survival: Passed
It does what it's supposed to do: turn multiple props into one. It also makes them indestructible, so a whole bunch of new spacebuild weapons can be built (I'll be building an explosive USV myself using a naquadah bomb, ZPM, and Polywelding the hull together).
the SVN is not working for me.. is there somewhere i can get this ?
the SVN is not working for me.. is there somewhere i can get this ?
You're not installing it right, you need to checkout the garrysmod/garrysmod folder
I can't download the Fing thing tried http://gmod-haza.googlecode.com/svn/...hys/garrysmod/.... SVN checkout and I just get Error: OPTIONS of 'http://gmod-haza.googlecode.com/svn/...hys/garrysmod': 200 OK (http://gmod-haza.googlecode.com) .... Googled and they suggested httpS or svn://, neither works...... Is it me or the actual link?
I want this sooooo bad but a noob with svn
ok hold on a second i have a tool on my server called super parent multi which gives the same result as this but lets you grab by prop without the silly ball and doesnt require and additional .dll's
i get the sneaky suspicion you're just parenting stuff to a hoverball..
prove me wrong and make this work perfectly with working physics and ability to attach thrusters to the props etc
[editline]3rd November 2010[/editline]
Parent:
Parenting is just setting the parent of the prop (this is a source engine future) it places the prop relatively from the prop its parented to (the parent)
But the problem is that the child prop cant move the parent.
Poly Weld:
Poly Weld fuses 2 props in to one prop. Its inreversable. But after it's fused it will behave like its 1 solid prop.
If Garry will implant this there is no reason to have a master prop anymore
yes but the physics dont work properly i cant grab the props with the physgun i can with super parent and its very buggy with certain props so theres no point asking garry to add it cos he wont it mite use a different method but its of no better use than super parent
Uh I give up......... Can't get the flipping .dll onto my server ANYWAY........ My server provider won't let me upload the .dll file to my server......... And still can't get the svn to work lol o_0
UMy server provider won't let me upload the .dll file to my server.........
If it's the fact that it's a DLL, rename it to something like "Awesomesauce.txt", then put it back it once it's been uploaded.
Nah that doesn't work I tried it. You have to just ask your server providers in a ticket to upzip it after you upload it in zip format...............
Btw is this project dead or what? A shame...............
Does it work on brohost serverS?
Well, I read through the whole thread and I didn't see this problem (I think).
But when I weld (poly weld) a bunch of boxes together, it work's just fine. But when I move them to a different location, the location where they got welded, there physical model is still there (But invisible of course) so it's like you're running into invisible objects.
This is exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for, but with the DLL requirement those of us running linux gmod servers and Mac client users are SOL. A solution for creating unified objects is a huge need for gmod in my short experience. Maybe one day.

Python recompiled it for linux, I think it's somewhere in the dll thread.
