SWEP base? SQUEE--- If you ever need lots of random links to high-quality Gamebanana skins (if that's what you're going to use with your SWEP base), just give me a PM, lol.
That will be most useful. Usually takes 3 days for me to create a new weapon and get it up to the quality standards I want, and half that time is spent scouring the internet for good models. [editline]13th July 2012[/editline]
What guns are you going to include in your firearms pack? Please not run-of-the-mill m4a1s and m9s...
Well, there will be an M4 carbine assault rifle and an M9 combat pistol because those are both very fine weapons ;) Just look to my old pack to see what there will likely be. I'll probably end up recreating most of those. Understand too that I'm limited by what models I can find. If I want to make a firearm but can only find shit models, I just don't make it.
Ok, so I tried to make a video with my bunker, and it turns out it isn't as sturdy as I thought. It worked fine yesterday, but today the actual bunker broke apart on detonation.
Did you remember to weight stool it?
Did you remember to weight stool it?
Yep. Everything is at 50000 units. It broke because the bunker in PHX is destructible, and the damage from 3 nukes at under 5 meters is enough to make it break.
Yep. Everything is at 50000 units. Also: To anyone who wants to suicide just right click twice with the M67 to cook it and never throw it.
I already have the loading tech constructed in LUA. It's part of my magazine loading system that I have for my new firearms (yes I already have it and a firearm made along with holsters, magazines, many different ammo types, bullets with penetration/drop/travel time/ricochet/injuries/bleeding. But I'm not releasing it. Because it's mine. MUAHA eventually though)
are they optimized
are they optimized
I would guess yes but I don't know :P
i only ask because his previous selection of entities lagged to hell and back so blaming me for being suspicious makes you all kinds of things that i can't say on this forum without getting banned though i would hope that he learned from last time [editline]14th July 2012[/editline] and jack, it would be nice if you actually gave me an answer instead of, y'know, rating me dumb because that just tells me oh so much
I bet 20 bucks he will rate your post dumb, Also what do you plan for the next update (Sorry if you already said if it was in OP I am just stupid.)
Maybe you should read the description for it ingame, because it mentions it there.
What do you plan for the next update?

Aight so far we have: 1. breaching charges - small Penetrator-Bomb-like bombs that can be stuck to surfaces and have a propensity to knock down whatever object they explode on, and also that have some compound in them that produces smoke upon detonation, which screens entry 2. a vending machine that, when given a dollar (lol) builds (with GUI) and vends to you whatever grenade you choose (sticky timed, bouncy timed, impact, HE, frag, FAE, incendiary) 3. two sizes of wire-controlled rocket pods. They're just pods full of holes (and special electronic and pyrotechnic modules). You take the J.I. Rockets of your choosing and load them manually into the pod. When given a signal, the pod fires a rocket in the direction it's pointing with all the standard traits as if you had fired the rocket from the J.I. shoulder-mounted single-shot rocket launcher. The rockets are fired in the order you loaded them, and you can load any combination of rockets you want. The pods are armored and thus resilient, and they are standard physics object that you can mount to any vehicle, fort whatever. Small will be a pod that holds 7, and large will be a pod that holds 19. MUAHA eventually though) The M67, being made of metal, is going to get different bounce characteristics depending on the surface it lands on. I'm sick of throwing it on soft dirt and grass to watch it skitter back behind my foe as if the ground was concrete. Going to try to fix the C4 so it doesn't sit the wrong way. Also going to change the C4 and shaped bomb think rates to be more smooth. Also adding some gib models to the table for concrete in the gib system. EMP will disable detonators that fail to resist. I can't believe I didn't think of that before :V
da fuck. everytime i come on theirs already been a new update lol
Oh cool. I can't wait for the vending machine xD.
It's nothing substantial, but I made a quick video briefing on the detonator. I've seen a few posts regarding "how-to," so I thought I'd try and address those questions in an effort to try and promote this great mod. Thanks for the development, Jackarunda; always looking forward to your updates.
a vid
1. YAY, YAY YAY YAY 2. makes me giddy to see people using my stuff 3. why didn't you cover the motion sensor mode? That was the one that took the most work 4. bit lengthy of an explanation for each one don't ya think :V 5. HAO DID MAKE VIDEO? MUST KNO 6. you know if you press "disarm" it still saves all the settings, right? So you can have a detonator all set up then when you're abut to drop your bomb all you have to do is press arm 7. acceleration here has nothing to do with mass or inertia (two intrinsically linked properties of matter anyways). It's simple meters per second per second. The setting is how much acceleration or how much of a jolt is needed to set it off Edited: Wait, do you guys not understand the autonomous mode? Aw shit, perhaps I should explain it: It's motion sensor. Yes you already have landmines, but those are specialized, with camo options, and they are quite insensitive to certain things and only go on contact. They are landmines. You can make proximity explosives using anything else with these detonators. Even oil barrels, or shrapnel bombs etc. Proximity shrapnel bombs. Stuff like that. If you position a plate on one side, you can make proximity-fuzed directional explosives. For the detonator, you select detection distance. This is straightforward; max distance to detect objects at. You can also set speed. This is meters per second. You can set it so it's possible to crawl past the detonator or walk past it and have it only detonate if you sprint past it, for instance. And the auto-arm delay. After you hit "Arm," you want the detonator to be inert for some time so you can get out of its detection radius. This number is in seconds. After this time it will begin watching. Now looky here, the detonator detects speeds relative to itself. You can have a proximity detonator armed and welded to a moving vehicle. Only when you either drive by something that the detonator can see, or someone comes flying at you or you move something on your vehicle that the detonator can see at a speed more than its triggering speed will it go off. Also, when setting up a proximity detector, it won't catch anything that it can't see. Placing it too deeply in the nooks of a contraption will prevent it from being able to see. Make sure your detonator has a line of sight to the area you want to detect. (also there's the tamper-proof checkbox, which will make your detonator unable to be disarmed once you arm it. This is to prevent the enemy from coming in and disarming your explosive, as it will detonate if they try). Ich hoffe, das hilft euch.
Rating of "Lua king" on a video makes no sense... Edit: WTF lua helper? I don't know a damn thing about lua :P edit: Oh why oh why did I say this at all D:. Edit: Haha haha ... ._. edit: Silly ratings, Not amused .____________________________.
I added a COMING IN THE NEXT UPDATE SO FAR section to the original post. I'm documenting everything I change in that section. So you can come back every so often and read it if you want to know what's going on. Take note that the bigger that list is, the longer the update's going to take :V Attention: And at some point here, prolly after this next update, I'm going to go back to NPC OpSquads and make instant-survival-challenge entities because that sounds like fun.
Hey Jack, is there any reason that you aren't using SVN?
Hey Jack, is there any reason that you aren't using SVN?
Because it's a HyperPainInTheAss 9000 (r). I used it for my old sents but eventually it got on my nerves. With gmod 13 right around the corner, I'm not going to. The updates are just gonna get bigger, as you can see. [editline]15th July 2012[/editline] I added checks and Xs in the post so you can see which particular additions/modifications are complete and which aren't, so you can get a general sense of how close the next update is :V Edited: LOOK AT THIS SHIT! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGM-114_Hellfire Does this not psyche you out? It's a fucking shaped HEAT charge with a thermobaric warhead behind it! And in the nose it has both laser homing sensors AND semi-active radar guidance systems (Fire-And-Forget shit) WE ARE SO HAVING THIS, BOY.
Say, you said you're accepting new ideas, and I know this one might be a little hard to implement, but how about a button or something for the binocs that "marks" the location you're currently looking at so that the arty radio can then be used to call in a strike on (for example) "last marked location" or something similar? Doable, maybe?

[quick tip: the radio takes voice, so you don't even need to leave binocular vision to talk to it. You don't have to be looking at it. You can stand with the radio next to you, looking at your target, as you speak the coordinates.] what I could do is this make it so that if you're looking through the binocs and say something in chat that begins with this: *coords* then a chat hooked function takes "*coords*" out of your message and replaces it with the coordinates of the location you're looking at. Would that be acceptable?

Previously it was just a convenient way to point something out to your friends, but now it will be like this. -> jackass driving around in a jeep -> your friend has a gmod plane with two hellfire missiles mounted on its underside -> he has one wire button wired to each missile inside his plane -> he's flyin in the sky -> you have The Nocs -> zoom in on jackass driving around in a jeep -> turn on your designator -> jackass in jeep doesn't notice little red dot (in real life laser designators use non-visible light frequencies) -> tell your friend you're ready -> he presses a launch button -> the missile detaches itself from the plane, fires its motor and locates the nearest visible laser dot -> flies down and strikes -> the HEAT charge obliterates the vehicle, killing the douche, and the thermobaric charge kills another douche not far from him -> profit

Made a video showing (most of) this pack. I cut out most of then radio cause it was too long. Oh the vid goes for 36 minutes as well, so I'll have to upload in parts :L There goes my internet lol. (It's already taken ~6 hrs to render the whole thing as well as the three seperate parts :P) I'll put a html here when its up.

In dark RP if I made cops get those that would be awesome. edit: Whats the blur on your physgun? edit: Haha I just threw a grenade at a group of enemies and forgot to pull the pin and it killed one.
Sorry the video still isn't up but I can't upload to youtube from my computer for some strange reason (the video uplaods but it is all bugged out- pixelated etc) so I am condemned to uploading from a 2004 computer from the stone age :L (but its funny cause the monitor for that one is brand new and mine is from like 1994.) It may be a while thanks to Australia's GREAT QUALITY INTERNET ADSL1 CAUSE WE HAVENT GOT ADSL2+ IN YOUR AREA YET BECAUSE WE DONT LIKE YOUR COUNCIL.
Something make me think you made the firework its just not pretty.
