I had an epiphany last night and I decided to pound out a new feature I just thought of. Real-time score graphs! All the features I want for the Score Graph aren't yet finished since I need to do some other stuff right now, but what is there works perfectly. Things I'll be adding: -a legend -buttons to switch between team NRG amounts and score throughout the match -buttons to turn on and off certain teams. -buttons to save graphs to the harddrive. -buttons to load stats to a graph. -notifications on the graph of special events like a player being destroyed, or a new player joining. Q: are there any new melons going to be added?
There aren't any plans for any new basic types of melons since no one has suggested anything different enough to create. However, there are plans for a couple new superweapons: -Ion Disrupter: Chain lightning style effect that disables units. -Some sort of unit that grants the marine ability to nearby melons. I'm also trying to add an APC "unit" of sorts that will allow loading of melons into it. The APC won't move itself, but will be easily welded and incorporated to vehicles and missiles. This should make space maps a lot easier since they required the most transporting. I'm also going to make a buoyancy props similar to ballast tanks. I'll probably have a few models of differing size and weight that should help out with the creation of naval ships. The alt fire will let you turn any prop buoyant. The difference between this and the old buoyancy tool is that these will be fully targetable, destroyable, and will slowly lose bouyancy as they get damaged. Ships will now slowly sink instead of being all fine and then instantly sinking or flipping when a prop blows. I'm always willing to take ideas though.

You know, I'm starting to miss the smartness.
How about an APC melon? Melons ordered to follow that melon latch on to it and it becomes a giant rolling cluster of melons. In order to not make it like a huge bomb, attached melons are parented, not welded, and their weapons are disabled. You could detach them by setting the APC's stance to something. The APC melon would be fast, lightly armored, no weapons, and have a flying version. The point is to have a way for melons to quickly travel from point A to point B.

Whenever this stupid steam problem gets officially patched I'm going to try and throw up the test server again with most all of the new features. Public release should follow should there not be any show stopping bugs.
The servers are fixed though, if it's a dedicated server, look at the tutorial in the Garry's Mod Discussion section, if not, all server renters offer a server fix now.

It wasn't a topic as much as something that should have been just a pm. That's already been on the front page for a long time. It also simply freezes my dedicated. In addition, rather not run using older exploitable files. There's been quite a plague of server hijackings.

I'm getting an unknown crash here with this dedicated server. Hold on. EDIT= Well this is quite an anti-climatic launch isn't it? It's crashing while people are being sent files from the server. I don't even know how that could happen, but I'm still fiddling.

Once it hits that file on the downloads, it crashes.
Considering that was a 0k file I accidentally left in there it's the likely culprit. Thanks Datsun, that's exactly what I needed. Here's some recent changes: [release]-All bomb types can now be turned into mines. -Added another type of payload to bombs: Slime Slime bombs explode in a gooey mess that does no damage but halves the speed of nearby melons for some time. Perfect for slowing down invaders, outrunning chasers, or helping outmaneuver enemies. -Any non kamikaze/commandable bombs can be made at outposts to help players rearm their vehicles and bombers. -Changed the trails of light fighters and strikers to better distinguish them. Strikers smoke is thicker and light fighters now have a very thin, team dependent laser trail. -All melons will pop up the name of their class if you move over them at close range. You can also hold the jump key to see their class at any range. -Player's can easily open the corresponding encyclopedia entry or any melon they are targeting with the touch of a button. -More lag reductions -Score board is more efficient and has a lot more options. -Fixed a long standing visual bug with the microwave laser's laser freaking out. -Health is visible for all superweapons. -Melons can now have alternative materials to make differentiation between types easier. -Barracks, Heavy Barracks, and Munitions Factory were given much better textures. They are much easier to see against other melons or props. -Spawn points and outpost given a better texture so that melons near them can be easily identified. -Spawn points now have a build time though the build time is waived if you are building your first free spawn. -Free spawns are per team and not per person, preventing some teams from having way too many spawn points. -Variant designers may now select how many free spawn points each team is given. -The WM Encyclopedia is fully operational though missing some pictures. It is very easy to add to articles to it and it will automatically detect broken links and updated articles. -Barracks can now make as many melons as the user defines.[/release] I shut the server down for the night. This small session was exactly what I needed to test a bunch of stuff out. Thanks for testing everyone. The server will be back up tomorrow.
I can't wait to play again. I was slow at first yesterday but I got back up quick.

APC melon? lol now this kinda defeats the purpose of a melon strike. I could mount an apc on my own rocket and send it in the general directon of someones base. and to compensate for the lack of damage i'll add some bombs held on by grabbers which i will release before impact. Heck i haven't been using this gameodes wire capabilites properly. Edit: Plus why is nobody on your fourms anymore? it's just me :(
this is a relay stupid question (I've never used this addon before) but can you make them attack each other ?

Melon strikes are essentially free and require little effort to fire. Building, buying, and targeting your own rocket APC's is far, far more time and resource intensive. Plus, melon strikes have a range, yours don't have to. The APC melons should make the space maps way more fun. There weren't a lot of people on the forums before (since there has pretty much only ever been one server up), so it's not like the population has changed a lot. Once release hits and people start making addons, scenarios, and variants. Expect it to pick up a lot more. true :) how long until the new version is going to be downloadable ? EDIT:will this need Life Support 2 ? if it does can you make a LS3 version ?
