=D addons like this are awesome because i have been playing g-mod for about 3 years (2 without knowing bout facepunch) and i know when i see a good addon, this addon and many others are very good especially stargate and catdaemons stuff =) (if you havent noticed i use ALOTTA smilies usually at beggining and end of paragraph.)
my warmelon mod wont work i can select my melons nicely but when i order them i get an error msg and the melons wont move
by the way great mod love it
edit:this is the message i get:
autorun/server/wmcommands.lua:47: attempt to call method 'MoveOrder' (a nil value)
edit: i reinstalled it it works but now im missing the spawn, ouposts, baseprops, legalizer and the barracks wont work
also i dont need nrg anymore to spawn melons evrery thing is free! :)
I love it.
Why isnt this all over Gmod? Why I ask you, why!?
Because it's a private gamemode, being used on Lap's server.

Oh my god where have you been, he released the gamemode quite a while ago.

The link should still work. Still shaky but should work. I still see one or two servers using this GM. The official one kind of dried out due to lack of players.
i downloaded it.. but it didn't seem to work :/.

This is kind of a hastened release so I am not sure if it works or not. For sure, single player is bugged, there are no variants for any of the existing maps and whatnot so I would try testing out how to make them etc.
So far it is still far from complete. I am not sure if Lap had any time to do some updates and such. This was released around November and that is usually Final preparations and likewise.
I haven't been online in a while but there might be one or two servers hosting this. The official one dried out recently.
Why is the Official Warmelons Server Down? Warmelons was one of my favorite gamemodes! Did the server owner run out of cash?
-EDIT-
Also, i would suggest a better selection system? Instead of using a ball why not use a green wire like in most rts games. Selecting things is a pain in the rear in this game. But, other than that, its epic.
Without donations I could only keep the server running for so long. It wasn't worth trying to scrap money together for it when I was too busy to provide continued support (player counts were falling since I wasn't updating).
Since November I've had finals and then I had to travel across the country for a month and I didn't really have computer access. Since I've gotten back I've been busier than I've ever been in my entire life. Starting in the next couple of days I am going to try to get myself back in the GMOD saddle. I would like to first update the WM forums and then finish up the documentation.
WM never got an official release like I always planned (this thread hasn't even been updated) I still plan on doing doing it properly with full documentation, some bug fixes, included example variants, an easy to DL mappack, and as much publicity as I can muster. Hopefully, with the combined documentation, more in game help, and publicity we'll get some more players. Special thanks to the 15 or so of you who have regularly visited the WM forums every day for almost three months without an update.
I'd also like to optimize the way space battles play out as one of the reasons I created this was my love for Battleships Forever. If I somehow get more time I'd like to make instructional or trailer videos.
The main thing that is going to delay WM updates is that I decided to try my hand at the Fretta contest. I wanted to make something new to rekindle my creative juices and I had a bunch of ideas from Jenga style abstract puzzle games to recreations of old deathmatch variants and mods like Air Buccaneers. When i was tooling around I made a quick recreation of Osmos and it was pretty fun, so I selected that as what I'm likely going to enter. As the contest due date is this month I will try as hard as I can to power that out and it will probably get most of my attention.
On the positive note for WM, Garry has implemented many new features into GMOD for us coders. Some of the new things I'm learning while making this contest entry seem like they could greatly benefit WM (primarily with reducing lag!). I still have a few major overhauls I want to do for WM, but the skill system I talked about earlier will likely not be completed without outside help. That has enough work in it to be it's own gamemode.
I find that the sphere is by far the most efficient way to select things in a 3d environment. Making a box on your screen is laggier and less precise, often selecting way more than you intended. Most people also don't know that you can move the sphere around for even more accuracy (limited documentation). I hope you are using the superior selection binds and not the gun.
The one time this sucks is in space battles. Because of space battles I might allow players an option to use either the sphere selection or a standard RTS 2d box.
In terms of getting more players, it would be nice to know how many people prefer different types of play. Right now most of the maps and servers are made for standard RTS map control style play, but single contraption/army battles, predefined scenarios, tower defense, and deathmatch style gameplay are all currently supported.

Well, if you want me i could help you. I have a few friends with servers, we could host Warmelons for you, if you wanted. I Can also map, though I'm not too good. But yeah I can provide hosting, hopefully. Just ask and I'll get it arranged.
This may be a little bump, but why doesn't the Encyclopedia all work. I want to know how Communications Uplink works, and other stuff. But it says INVALID **** SPECIFIED.
I don't know why.
Also, How do I load/spawn variants?
I reuploaded the link for the Warmelons, either for people that don't want to move the Info.txt, or just don't look at other pages....
Put the Addons, Data, and Gamemodes folder in garrysmod/garrysmod.
Weres the download?I really want to get it.
Did you read the thread?
Read the entire thread next time, this was just on the last page.

So you put the Garrysmod folder in garrysmod/garrysmod? That's wrong.
No i put all the folders in the garrysmod/garrysmod folder
Oh god I am bored, I am skiing with very limited internet. I can do almost nothing, and even being on forums is slow as hell. Now that I have been on the forums I frequent, I realised I could check in on this thread. I hate facepunch though...
First of all, I want to tell people that the spacebuild community "McBuilds" also got a warmelons server, and if my data is up-to-date, it is the only wm server out there currently. We are still fixing alot of stuff, and we only got a few variants. But it is getting worked on.
Myself I fixed hoverballs and restricted many tools, and some otehr guys is helping to make it work (especially now as I am unavailible). I have not been in the server since saturday, but I think its playable and even got wiremod (which needs some work), just got a few bugs and need more stuff.
And mcbuilds got a forum incase you did not know (google, I got to slow internet to go for a link).
I would also like to tell people who for some reason go to this thread, that lap actually got a forum. It is dead since jan 29, but I would love if warmelons was brought back to life.
Also, as a comment to lap.
1. Your coding is apparently a bit old. You do not need to do GetTable(), and it actually creates issues as you use it. As an example, the hoverballs is broken in your gamemode. Removing the GetTable() stuff and then removing a single line (the line works for wire hbs, but not garrys) in your hoverball tool makes them work again.
2. I would love if you could let us download the variants and maps, as even though I have uploaded several to the server, I think I did not play all, even though I played it for ages (some wasnt on rotation and didnt have interesting names and/or was to big).
3. I got alot of other questions I need to ask you, mainly about how to get wm functional, such as a pp letting teammates cooperate (I think we had a issue with that). I will try to ask you trough articus (got him on steam) when I get home (saturday, might be so late I wont be able to talk until sunday), or you could add me on steam (wonder why we never did that :S).
Can someone help me?
