Did an update break this? Because mine stopped working all of the sudden.
The Gmod update released today broke PA, I'll be releasing a patch later tomorrow for both PA and Physgun Buildmode.

awesome, thought it wasn't just me
First time starting up gmod in a few weeks and a stupid update just got released. Fuck :(
It took a bit longer than expected since I ended up doing a bit more than the "quick fix" I hoped for, but the latest update (1.3) should fix the outstanding issues. Expect another feature update soon.
Is Physgun Buildmode clientsided so I can use it online?
Unfortunately not possible, it's a serverside mod so you can only use it in SP or on servers with my tools installed.
You going to make a tutorial for Precision Alignment?
sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but 1.3 didn't fix anything
When I try using precision alignment something goes very wrong, first of all, I can't move points (as in, the Move button never turns white), also, when I attach them, the red marker of the first point stays right where it is, even if I move the prop, they just don't attach at all.
Is this because the tool broke with some update or am I the only one?
Great tools btw.
It did for me.

In PA, left click places constructs, right click selects entities. When you click "attach", that attaches a point to whatever you have selected - so if you have nothing selected, the point will be "attached" to the world.
The move button will become enabled when you select an entity to move. For moving between points, select the first point in the left list, and the point you want to move to in the right list, then click "move entity".
Tutorials come after the next update which will be done soon.

Same here.

What exactly is wrong?
in the console it says that precision_align_constraint doesn't exist
in the console it says that precision_align_constraint doesn't exist
Can you copy/paste the exact error message as it appears in the console?

Did you put 1.3 in ..... acountname/garrysmod........ ?
Unknown command: precision_align_constraint
@whitesinner i tried that it didn't work
Are you trying to use these tools in single player or on a server? If on a server, which server? Are you doing anything in particular to bring up the error message, or does it just show up when you spawn?
on single player, it is in the console when i try use any of the constraint functions ie: make a rope. also it doesn't show up on screen only when i open the console

I only really use the Physgun Buildmode so I don't know about PA or anything, but Physgun Buildmode is avaliable and I can check it on and off but no matter what, it won't affect the physgun at all.
I can try later on a fresh GMod folder to check if it's a conflict.

Please PM me or add me to Steam, I'll try and run you through some steps to try and figure out what the problem is.

Please do, the problem with Physgun Buildmode is that there are a number of badly written mods out there that can override the hooks it uses. Conflicting addons have always been the culprit so far when this issue has come up.

This.
Is there some sort of Wiki on how to use this, or a guide? It would be helpful.
Whenever Wenli fixes the tool I'll make a vid.
After extensive research I have found that the conflicting addon is the GM_Mount addon.
One of the updates seems to have broken GM_Mount and taken Physgun Buildmode with it. I don't know if there's a new version of GM_Mount that works with the latest update and doesn't conflict with this.

New update!
Thanks for the feedback/bug reports. I've just uploaded version 1.4, it includes a whole bunch of feature additions and bugfixes. It's a fairly major update, especially with new additions to PA like multi-stack, repeat last function, and the ability to edit wire hydraulics.
I've also moved the project to Sourceforge, and made a help wiki that can be accessed from each of the tools via the in-game Steam browser. I'm working on the precision alignment documentation now which is quite extensive, so you'll see it being updated bit by bit.
This error is happening a lot on our server:
Physgun Buildmode Pickup Error: lua\autorun\server\sv_physgun_buildmode.lua:173: attempt to call global 'Phys_Drop' (a nil value)
Dunno how and when. I just see it spamming occasionally.

This shouldn't happen any more - try updating to the latest version, 1.4. If you're updating via svn, be sure to update the address.
Oh we're on the old svn.
