I'd see the problem if it was as widely sold as a CW Schema, but it's not. Using that logic, couldn't you just say people have no right to port models because it belongs to another companies franchise? I doubt Bethesda care about minor Garry's Mod developers to take action anyway.
I'm not following. It's fine for you to make your base platform closed source, but anything using Bethesda's IP you're not allowed to sell. Ports are free.

No offense, but - Tell that to Cloud Sixteen.
No offense, but - Tell that to Cloud Sixteen.
Cloud Sixteen sells AtomicRP, not FalloutRP, no? I'm not sure how their use of HL2 IP works, but I guess since it's for a valve-partnered game it's alright? It's sort of iffy, but not at this level.
That may be, but couldn't you say that about every gamemode? Imagine if PERP used default HL2 Assets for the map and vehicles. I gave credits where credits were due, was polite to you at the start of the thread and even discussed it with you on Steam. So what else is there left to dispute? I didn't sell the shit out of the code, I sold it to 1 community.

I also never said you sold the shit out of the code, I just pointed out that this gamemode without any content by people that you consistently insult would have probably not gotten anywhere.
If you really want me to nitpick and point out every flaw I can if you so desire.
The Content used in this is available on the internet and I can even link you to it if you want them. The content was available for anyone even before I lost the rights. Same with the map, both versions. The edited Lazarus and the disbanded one I made at the start. No money was ever paid for these and I'm just making this clear now.
I don't give a shit about rights or w.e you're just being a dickhead and I'm sorta done being polite about it lol
Really?

Keep in mind I kept materials to a minimal. Almost everything is done with draw funcs.

Oh the irony. Did your 'SeriousRP Fallout' gamemode not go dead quickly, up to the point where you hated SeriousRP and left your community?

Wouldn't this apply to anything making money from another IP? Like donations to keep a server running. It's being done all the time, by plenty of people. Take a look at the Garry's Mod listings and tell me how many different RP's centre around other franchises, in which also take in donations. But as I said before, Bethesda are probably too busy counting their $750 million they made from Fallout 4.
Donations are fine, as long as content is not offered in return. Many emulators operate off of this, and some of which abuse "donations" to make money. The use of models is sketchy enough, but it's generally okay to use them as long as it's free and doesn't cause the original author to feel as though his content was infringed.
This is going off-topic very quickly I fear... :|
Pretty UI, Johnny. Wish everybody would get along and create something awesome together...

Basically this. Donations are already slightly shifty, but when it comes to blatantly selling someone else's IP, it's actually illegal. I'll make this my last post on this thread so we don't derail too far.

I feel it's a bit too late for that so feel free to keep talking about it. I only sold the rights because I have no enthusiasm to keep working on it. I left it to someone else, not because of profit, but for it to feel like it wasn't all for nothing. I could have left it to just sit on my computer but at least the other community will make use of it.

my inventory was a recreation of project zomboids, not Fallout 3/NV because admins that had way too much say got pissed off if I even brought up making the inventory a pipboy.
regardless your GUI has tons of issues, none of the buttons get highlighted depending on the tab your on, the text is everywhere with inconsistent spacing ie:

Gonzoblog gave us the hud at Spire, before it even went on the workshop and he was credited in the server credits and in the script:

people that contributed pretty much anything, got a space in the credits, even people that gave me ideas and stuff got credited:

I do hate SeriousRP, and the primary issue with the server was the admins and the fact that people offered to help do stuff and then reneged on what they were supposed to do. I didn't even want to stay for launch, or anytime after that though I held everything together and kept the ball rolling up until the day I had left. It only died when management changed hands.
You're making the same mistakes I did in the past with your gigantic ego, stop being a dick and stop acting like what you've done is the best. Learn when to appropriately defend yourself and also learn to accept criticism and deal with it in a mature manner.
This is paraphrasing but I'm pretty sure you mentioned that you had an ego because you wanted to be remembered, using chessnut as an example of someone who is forgotten and conna as someone who is remembered. You don't want to be remembered for being an asshole, and the fact you want to is honestly borderline depressing as all hell.

I was talking about selling the rights of my gamemode.

I wasn't being an asshole before so thats on you. I'm pretty sure when we spoke on Steam you mentioned that you also wanted to be remembered, as do a lot of devs. It just makes you feel like you accomplished something, if I'm honest I doubt I can be remembered for anything else outside of Garry's Mod. I'm not good at a lot of things.
so any progress on this or is it dead
so any progress on this or is it dead
I've moved on. Let it die. If you're enthusiastic about it, your best bet is joining the Steam group until the server is announced to be open.
oh, looks very simple gamemode,
you are a better coder
