The 3 servers I have seen posted here for final frontier all use !votemap, but the one he is referring to requires 3 people to votemap for it to work methinks.
I know it is still Pre-alpha, but as it rolls out I think it would be neat if the sensors room could double as a communications room in that it can broadcast a global or local distress beacon to other ships sensor rooms, or a "store" beacon that can denote a willingness to trade resources or modules with other ships.
As for spawning people: I still very much prefer the option of a static spacestation as a spawn for all people. It supports a global spawnpoint for everyone, preventing random people to be spawned on a ship. I pretty much think this would be WAY better than a teamsystem, because teams are kind of useless and unneccessary if people are encouraged to organise themselves. Final Frontier is not a roundbased game like Counterstrike or TF2. It is a huge spaceplayground on which people can decide what to do and with whom to do. What I think would come in handy would be an option to mark certain players as friends in the scoreboard (see TTT). It doesn't force you to be on a certain side but it makes clear who is friend and who foe. Maybe the same thing could be done with ships. Friendly ships would show green on the radar, and neutral or hostile ships as red.
Sorry for being AWOL for the last week or so, I've just returned home prior to going back to university and needed to prepare some stuff before term starts. I'll try and respond to more tickets from now on.

Also true with me. Sadly people would ignore others at the station.

Glad to hear your back, you've got a lot of work ahead of you.
BTW please try not to move onto other things, this is a great idea which you should follow though, although you shouldn't sacrifice more important things for doing this. Find your mid-ground :).
User Request: Overriding Tutorial
Since hacking consoles on the newer versions is now harder, a guide on how to hack stuff would be appropiate. Even though it is roughly described in one of the devvideos, I still think we could have a dedicated post solely about this topic. Rate with Agree if you ... agree.

I've been wanting to make a tutorial, but I haven't had the time, and I've taken my server down until some more interest in the gamemode is generated. People seem to have lost interest in it now.

I stopped playing the server because the consoles cept bugging out, making the game not any fun at all.
Seriously, Say one ship would end up with dominion over everything, and the broken consoles made people spawn themselves onto your ship, and take it over, it wasn't even close to fun, people'd spawn in your ship and attack you non-stop.
To put it simply, your sever was too popular for the buggy alpha-stage gamemode, it just came apart at the seams.
Your server had plenty of interest, and many players at first, but the game bugged so much (MAINLY some console not responding in any way, shape, or form after use (I think its dying while using it, but it only happens rarely (Even though its rare people die at consoles so often that it quickly breaks all the ships)) no one continued to play, and just quit because the bugs tore the game apart.
The only bug i've found is the Console bug, and even though its only very small, its an EXTREMELY problematic bug, the game, and Night's server is losing popularity fast because of it.
I KNOW NIGHTMARE QUOTED AN EARLIER VERSION OF THIS POST, I EDITED IT A LOT AFTER HE POSTED.

I know. I was trying my best to pinpoint the bug, but we just couldn't figure out where the problem is situated. I'll probably host again if it ever gets solved.

Try not simply to find an error in the code, The code may be perfectly fine, but it may be incomplete.
Lets say, for instance, it stops working when you die while using it.
First of all you look to see if there is code that covers what happens when someone dies while using it, if there is no code to say what happens when that happens, you probably have the bug right there in your hands.
Try to do everything possible to the console while in-game. Lag, packet loss, etc. Heck, take a look at what happens when someone installs the gamemode incorrectly, or forgets to set the gamemode before joining.

I wasn't looking for specific errors in the code. I was looking at what exactly happens before the consoles break. I do believe it's thinking players are on different ships because the consoles only render for players on that ship.

Some consoles can work on a ship, and leave others OK. Trust me i've broken a console before.
I was in the teleporter room of a locked ship.
I tried to hack it, died, suicided a lot to get back on, continueing.
On the third time there it broke.

And I was able to break most consoles just by spamming E on it. Sometimes they'd break on their own.

Okaaaay, Lets take this to PM ok? This is getting out of hand and off-topic :). Now how do I PM... I'm really new here i don't know how Facepunch works :/.
... I don't have anything to say anymore ;_;.
20 slot beta server up at 74.91.114.193:27016 , feel free to pop in.
So what's the current state of development? OP was last edited 2 weeks ago and says that it's not playable yet, while people now post server IP's.
So that confuses me a little. Has anything of note changed since 2 weeks ago, or are you merely experimenting with what has been implemented, but not actually "playing" the mod?
At the moment all you can do is experiment with stuff that has been implemented yet, thats right. As the OP says it is not in a playable state yet, even though people are hosting servers so that bugs can be found together. It usually results though in the ships being giant death traps without oxygen. The only thing that I know has changed in two weeks is that more nodes have been added to overriding. You can also check the Changelog on the github page.

So true. So sad.
I'd love to host this again, but that console bug de-motivates me.
Well, the console bug will eventually be fixed and I will have to look into it myself as well. I'd love to see some people on the server. I'm on at the moment and I'm the only server up, so come on in. Maybe we can figure out things

can i join with some friends
A friend and myself got Teams working today, as In Blue and Orange for both ships. You now only spawn on one ship per connection unless transferred by admins. By the way, stay tuned for new scoreboard and a console fix. I will also be calling my community Galaxy Gaming soon. Hopefully Ziks will be on today and I can talk with him more.

ADD. VOTEMAP. NOW.
Seriously, the ships are compleately broken right now (Orange at least), we need a way to restart the server when things break.
I got the scoreboard working in sync with your team, so now it will show color on the scoreboard, also so we're clear, the colors also align with the ship, so you won't be spawning on orange if you're on blue or blue if your on orange. Once you spawn, you get a team and you stick with it.

Now, how will it handle maps with 4 ships?
Now, how will it handle maps with 4 ships?
I can make it so that you can have 4 ships, though I don't have the time to make a 4 ship map, nor can I really keep up with developing all of them at this point in time. If you want the four ships, give me 4 colors of the ships and I'll edit it and you can run it.
This still has yet to be pushed to github, and I need to really make a new pull request.

I already made a map with 4 ships for my server when I ran it.
I don't really get what the purpose of a 4-ship map would be without any real content to play yet. The universe is plain empty, the ships are not even fully destroyable yet and piloting is still buggy. Imho the gamemode hasn't reached the state yet, where things like that are useful. Apart from that, you know my opinion about teams (If not read a few posts further back).
The teams you were speaking about were code-finding teams? The teams im talking about is ship-wise.
Would you please be so kind to tell me the difference between "code-finding" and "ship-wise" teams? In the end it will still restrict the overall freedom of players to do what they want because they are ASSIGNED to a ship rather than choosing one themselves. Apart from all that I remind of my previous post: There is NOTHING to do yet really apart from experimenting with the features and screwing lifesupport.
