Someone leaked legit information about HL3 so the page got blocked by internet police in time before it could spread further.

Damn, we arrived too late. All the evidences have been cleaned out already.
User Request: Overriding Tutorial
Since hacking consoles on the newer versions is now harder, a guide on how to hack stuff would be appropiate. Even though it is roughly described in one of the devvideos, I still think we could have a dedicated post solely about this topic. Rate with Agree if you ... agree.
This one here still is kind of in the room. I'd like that to be covered by someone since I can't really properly test the updates until I unlock the bloody consoles which takes me a lot of time if I ever even succeed to unlock one of them. How about a state in which a ship is unowned and free, to be claimed by the first one who locks up all systems?

I can already hear 12-year-olds raging on the microphone.
We should have a captain designated at the start of each round. This captain would have red permission on everything and the puzzles would be shuffled already so it would discourage griefers.
As for writing the guide, I'm shit at solving puzzles. Everytime I think I understood how puzzles work I manage to fail.

By default, the consoles are shuffled with over-ride codes. You can actually disable this in the code, and I highly encourage doing so. By disable "shuffling", I mean the server shuffling the consoles override codes.
Addition:
To see the Final Frontier gamemode, I have a Live stream that starts in 2 min! http://twitch.tv/mkingrey22

Final Frontier is not Roundbased so that will not work. Also captains being randomly assigned? Sounds pretty crappy to me. It is totally ok, when a ship is free in the station that someone takes it and fills his crew. Power to the people.

I might actually do that in the future, just to try out the new stuff. Even though it still would be pretty nice to get a proper introduction into overriding since I will have to do that in the finished game once in the future.
I wonder if making factions or something like an enemy/ally system would do good
[editline]12th October 2013[/editline]
But how do you stop idiotic players coming and destorying life support and some how breaking almost every single console because if you had captains that decided who comes on and who gets kicked off the ships would be nice and if you want to become a captin all you got to do is create a ship and set it to private, public, or secret mode and private mode is the mode that you need to ask to get on.

You know you can end your sentences sometimes, to make them more readable. Barely anyone will be able to understand you properly if your whole post is one single sentence. I don't want to start the discussion on the sense and use of punctuation again. But fucking start using it! I dont give a shit if you think it is not needed on the internet, but each time I read one of your posts the lingualistic part of my brain starts to hurt a lot and I have to fucking scream out of pain.
Please have some common sense and make your posts readable.
So you don't like my more randomness with little statements being stated previously or being there at the moment of the random ideas. Sorry for my one sentence statments. All you need to do was tell me not ramble about my other stuff that I already messed up. You could have just told me to be a little less out-of-nowhere and have some more words/sentences but thanks for explaining that right now :(
The word you were looking for is structure, but fair enough I reached my goal.
Thank you.

I could read that fine!! There's nothing wrong with it.
...I must be used to 12-yr-old-type. I can read it and I can understand everything he's trying to say.
I think ships should spawn docked at the station, and players can claim the ships. Also, after no one is on the ship it completely resets and goes back to the station.
I never knew Facepunch was so picky about grammar.

Ziks likes the idea of space stations, and also wants players to be able to launch ships.
Alright while the space station thing is something I extemely like and I'm trying to make (only the script/code, still need someone with hammer to make map) another thing that is less important by still a good idea is an Ally/Enemy system that uses it's own console or uses the other consoles or something but I'd like us to have and Ally/Enemy/Nuetral thing that is set by what people experience and like if you sensors have power or something ot will sense when and enemy or friend or random nuetral is on. Also the security should only show people on the ship that the console is one so the security panel is clutter by lots of name when there is a lot of people but how would you implement that is a question to be asked.

Maybe next time something like this happens we should all take screenshots of what it is.
Wonder if very limited ammo weapons could work, with something like 3 shots before having to be recharged? Would have to be recharged when out.
... also a stun option, so we can all go "Set phasers to stun!".
Maybe not for Finalfrontier but anyway, since there is a decent amount of Star Trek Nerds here aswell :3 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=185743096

You would expect that. The gamemode IS called Final Frontier you know. Its not like its subtle.

Except that space has ALWAYS been "The Final Frontier", and that didn't come from Star Trek. This gamemode attracts space nerds, not just Star Trek nerds.

I guess you are right :/
Halloween has some benefits even if you don't go out
As a note, I may have found a fix for the console bug. While I was messing around with the (gmod) console, I noticed a could not use consoles after a few commands. After issuing the command 'changeteam Xerosic', without adding an actual team to the end, I apparently reset to default, and seemed to be able to use consoles again. While the console bug is most likely a bug with the actual consoles, this seems to be a valid, albeit temporary, and case-by-case fix of the bug. I haven't a decent server to test it on, though, so I'd like you guys to see if it works at all.
Edit:Also, it looks like most of the public servers have gone down, or removed FF. Anyone still running?
Edit: After a small amount of research, I'd guess that the console bug has to do with initialization and uninitialization when interacting with the custom weapon used to control consoles. Perhaps we could stick a few more protocols in there, to prevent conflicts, and see how that works out?
Xerosic you are a genius. I didn't really try to find out what caused but if we can come up with a way to fix that than we will have a lot of servers. Right now I'm just trying to make the teams a little more strict because everytime I enter a server or did anyway, I would be rdmed either by the life support not working or just always getting hit in the back by the guys on my ship team. They just enter thinking it is a free for all and we need a type of karma system for that but not 100% like TTT but more like if you kill him you lose karma unless you are spy which I'm trying to implement with my code to make teams. So far all I have is the commands to make teams and I need to make a gui for team making also I need someone good with hammer to build me space station.
As a suggestion, I've found setting security is extremely frustrating, and it can take a long while to set everything up, or induce new members. I'd suggest a Security Console, which could change someone's access for the entirety of the ships consoles, and also modify each individually. Additionally, to prevent abuse from enemy hackers, guard it with a few things, such as a double-airlock, and a few extra nodes to its override. Also, make sure it has a decent shield module, to prevent teleportation inside. What do you guys think? We could have it that in the future, the captain is automatically given full access to the sec console, and nothing else, and the hack codes are scrambled. Then, he can just head to the sec console, and set up everything there.

The servers are down cause no one will play anymore. The console bug was SO bad that it ruined it for everyone.
There also is barely anything that makes Final Frontier really playable yet. We have a barebone framework with controllable ships etc. but there is no quest here yet. The ships can keep on shooting each other with unfinished piloting etc. but thats about it. As soon as testing is over and the focus lies on filling the game with stuff I bet there will be a lot more activity again.
I am trying to get a test server on for my scripts that I'm trying to fix up but not much luck also some guy is in issue tab of the github gamemode webpage and says that ff_info_roomcorner is not being init for some reason on dedicated servers but I couldn't give reason why. Anyone else want to try solving his issue?

Spartan, if you really need a test server, PM me.
Its not that I need a test server, it is that my scripts aren't working well enough and I can't test some script either because of bad hammer experience or it needs some finishing or its just too messy thanks though
so whats the ETA on this being playable?
When it's done. Ziks didn't mention anything on that yet, it just takes time to eliminate bugs. And then it also takes time to create playable content, like the spacestation, spacequests, more locations and planets, more ships and weapons etc. etc.
Maybe Ziks will hire a few guys for that or let the community create some contents, like Quests and special items and weapons.
