Having a weird problem.. ;s
Installed DarkRPG but can't see the "admin-menu" when i press f4!
I have added myself to the admins-lua-file-thing as described :P
Add yourself to admin in settings/users.txt (on the server)
DarkRP isn't a 'serious' roleplay gamemode, it's fine how it is.
There are plenty of other more serious roleplaying gamemodes with inventorys, go play on them :3
You don't know how hard is to script serious roleplaying gamemodes? Some people are bad at scripting but they still want serious roleplay, only option is to use DarkRP. Yeah so, DarkRP needs an inventory. Only thing i want.
DarkRP and CakeScriptG2 are the only scripts I know which doesn't require any MYSQL database. They are also not too boring serious (Tacoscript serious). The problem with CakeScriptG2 is that it's HL2 based (the "official" shema).
All I want is that for example FPtje include a toggled inventory to DarkRP.
Then people who want a more serious DarkRP can use it, and the minges can stay with their non-inventory DarkRP.
Isn't that a great idea? huh?

I totally agree with this. I hope that FTPje thinks about it.
Mobboss Agenda help!
I've asked in the lua scripting section, but they told me to go here.
I would need some help fixing another agenda for my "mafia boss" job
I really would apperciate some sort of guide/torturial/tips/answer
anything! It would be awesome with another gang using agenda :)
Apperciate your help! thanks for watching :)

I second this, how do you make more agendas?

I thought DarkRP did use a sql database..?

As for the inventory stuff, in my opinion, on DarkRP it's really really really really easy to get rich on, this is slightly countered by people not been able to save the things they bought on disconnect, if people could save what they buy, everyone would be so rich it'd be just stupid, and very un-serious.
And don't say the only rich people are admins, cause they can set their money, on my server we have the setmoney command removed, as well as the commands to change the money printers settings, yet people still have loads of money.
Also, one of the main reasons people want an inventory is so their shipments don't get lost when the server crashes. Seeing as the server could potentially crash at any time, people would end up keeping all their shipments/guns in their inventory, all the time.
This means the mobboss/gangsters can't rob them.
This leads to the mobboss/gangsters getting bored, and boredom leads to mingery.
The mobboss/gangsters having nothing to rob would then lead to them committing less crimes, and thus the cops have less reasons to arrest them.
This leads to the cops getting bored, and boredom leads to mingery. It's even worse in this case because as a cop you've got many more ways to abuse than other players.
Cop/criminal roleplay is one of the most popular parts of DarkRP, lessening it's potential would make DarkRP quite boring for players.
Good players who get bored, either find something new and imaginative to do, or leave the server.
Bad players who get bored, minge, then either leave or get kicked/banned.
Either way, it leads to less players on the server, which makes everyone else bored, and so on and so on until the servers empty.
This won't affect very popular servers too much, but eventually it'll hit them.
What will be affected most is the smaller, less known servers who struggle to get players as it is.
And that's why we shouldn't have an inventory!
The economic system in DarkRP could also be configurable. Like:
Easy to get money = 1
Medium easy/hard to get money = 2
Hard to get money = 3
Money level = 1/2/3
Console Command: rp_moneylevel 1/2/3
That system would change salaries, prices and stupid things that gives you money (like killing NPCs.)
Everything is fixable Drakehawke. And those who don't want to change stuff can just keep it as they want, while the people who do want change can chose the change (inventory and economic system).
Btw, DarkRP works with a SQL database, but it doesn't require one.
DarkRP uses, and requires SQLite to store data. SQLite is saved right to the server in that "sv.db" file.
As for the money level, just use different server.cfgs. Make a cfg file for let's say a high money level, all you need to do to change that mass amount of commands is write them out to that cfg file, then execute it. So, simply "rcon exec high.cfg".

That still doesn't solve the problem that no-one could ever steal anything cause everyone would keep stuff in their inventory..
How do I make a class useable only during a lockdown?
You'd have to edit the source of DarkRP for that.
Another dumb question.. sorry :-P
All players who join the server are able to spawn their own weapons (using the "q" menu)! Why? How can I prevent that?
Thanks!

Just your own console when you're admin.
I thought it would be important to inform the members of Facepunch that FPTje is no longer the only DarkRP developer.
I was invited by him to join the team this morning, I happily accepted.
A brief description of me:
I've been playing Garry's Mod for around 2 years now, I formed a community named BloodyChef, which has only recently been disbanded, I have created two gamemodes and worked with FPTje previously. and have been coding LUA now for about a year, probably less. I'm 16 years old, currently studying for my GCSE exams, and plan to take Physics at university. I've also been very good friends with FPTje for the majority of my gmod play life.
How are you contributing to DarkRP?
I will be working with Falco on a number of projects, we often find ourselves bouncing ideas off each other, and usually Falco is the one who implements them, but now we will be working on projects for DarkRP together, thus improving efficiently and spreading out the workload.
Welcome to the team, Eusion :D

Thank you, FPTje :).
Great to see another developer! Wish you all the best Eusion!

Yup.. =P
And I found out that the AssMod was causing the "error"... Installed Ulx, Much better!

Hi, I'm the annoying one who always manages to find a bug and comes up with loads of stupid suggestions that FPtje never agrees with. xD
Does this mean that FAdmin will be released quicker? Now there's two of you working on stuff?
Fadmin is still my side project.

Well yeah, but surely if you've got another person to work on DarkRP you'll have more time for that? :3
Would it be possible to have people's cars save onto the server?
IE. When the player buys a cars, and owns it the car saves onto his or her inventory. Then when the players leaves the server and then comes back they can get their car back from their inventory, or like perp, from an npc.

What inventory?
What inventory?
Maybe the one I and some other guy suggested in the latest posts?
Well, I won't whine more about this. I said what I wanted, and it's up to FPtje to concider it.
If he doesn't do anything, I will use CakeScriptG2 which has an inventory, or just code one myself.
What inventory?
Sorry, by "inventory" I meant the car being saved on the server database, then being brought back up by that npc or a menu.

Its something you'd have to make yourself.
