Thank you Dark, i owe you one. :3 If i ever harvest Thomas's or GMT's brain, i shall give you a slice of each! Scratch that, i want your brain too.
oh i think i figured out what i did wrong with the install program...lol sorry for the unnecessary post
It might be a good idea to make sure PCMod 2 doesn't conflict with DarkRP (by default if possible) because a lot of people use the two together and might not know to search for another file to patch it. Also, DarkRP is constantly being updated and the patch could fall out of sync.
Awesome mod,my favorite-the cabletile.Now I can have cables that actualy do something... And just before I do something stupid while trying to fix this problem.I'll ask first. Every time I try to open CharServ I get "(something)tried to call "ss"-a nill value" or something like that.Help?
When a computer technician says !pcbuy, they get the menu but nothing happens when you press buy.
There's a problem with the backbone networks, when I link them to normal networks and other ones, they give a nil value/string for network.
YOU DAWG, So I hurd you like compewters so I put a compewter in your compewter so you can drain your life while draining your life! BTW I have no idea how ChatServ works, and you guys told the other guy to read the thread, but there is no info, I read it all.
Question, is there any documentation for developing your own programs?
I made some models, and I'm currently configuring it for PCMod 2. It's basically the cs_office's monitor without the stand, so these can be nicely attached to walls, ceilings etc.
Most excellent! If you/someone can make some cool VGA mounts for these screens it'd be so awesome. Imagine the quad-screen desk mounts!
I can't view the scoreboard anymore! I get this error: ERROR: GAMEMODE:'ScoreboardShow' Failed: pcmod/cl_gui.lua:152: attempt to index field 'Gui' (a nil value)
Ok guys, everyone who is getting problems with the scoreboard and other stuff: Make sure you do NOT have PCMod 1 AND PCMod 2 installed AT THE SAME TIME on either your server OR the clients!

Hey I was wondering would it be possible to make a program that opens an RT camera screen on the monitor? It would be perfect for security systems.
...People... Just read the fucking thread before you fucking post, then you save yourself the embarrasment of asking an already awnsered question. Also, Achillies, i was on about the in-game computers too. You connect them to the same router or figure out how to use a backbone router. (I have no idea how to work the backbone.)
Were you talking about me? Because i've read it twice now. Just because he couldn't get it to work it doesn't mean it is impossible. And i saw nothing about the viewport thing.
Great mod I made a video showing the music player and I/O device. suggestion: I would like a couple of ports on the I/O device that toggles between high and low (1 and 0) with a button in the I/O program.
Hmm it appears that the speakers still spam console with the EOF error "KeyValues Error: RecursiveLoadFromBuffer: got EOF instead of keyname in file models/Chipstiks_PCMod_Models/Speakers/StandardSpeakerMetal.mdl mdlkeyvalue, (*prop_data*)," when you spawn them. Meh, the speakers themselves work fine so I'm not complaining
Ok, to patch PCMod 2 to work with DarkRP properly, download this below and follow instructions: You will need to have downloaded PCMod 2.0.0 first, this is overwrites a few files. Add this to the bottom of the DarkRP gamemode shared.lua file: [lua]PLUGIN = {} include( "pcmod/plugins/darkrp_235.lua" ) PLUGIN.JobColour = Color( 100, 100, 0, 255 ) -- OPTIONAL PLUGIN.JobSalary = 80 -- OPTIONAL TEAM_COMPTECH = PLUGIN:SetupJob() PLUGIN = nil[/lua]
YES! It works now! Except that there is prop protection, it might work if you made it a shared entity. Only the buyer can use it with prop protection. Psst add portal computers.
Portal computers is a good idea for those that have portal, but can be troublesome for those that don't... Thomas, do you think it'd be possible for admins to tick boxes like, "Show CSS Computers" and "Show Portal Computers" That way people can choose what to have on a server and help stop people getting errors. Also, KP3, if you've read the thread, i'm not talking about you. :3.
Your config music entry should look like this:
{ "music/BLAH.mp3", "My Song Name" }

Actually that part is wrong (so is the code example in the config). it's
{ "My Song Name", "music/BLAH.mp3" }
If you go down the the HL2 and Portal entry's, they are written this way.
Hmm, I am mistaken, you are correct. Thanks.
Hmm, I am mistaken, you are correct. Thanks.
No Problem :D
Hey I was wondering would it be possible to make a program that opens an RT camera screen on the monitor? It would be perfect for security systems.
So what do you think of this idea or is it not possible?
Would be a simple addition to AlarmZ, which I am going to release in the next update.
Have you gotten to configuring the cursor coordinates for my monitor yet? No offence, but I found that way too difficult, and some instructions would have been nice.
Sorry, been kinda distracted recently. I've been doing a massive model make-over tonight and I will be aswell tommorow, adding in new models for everything and your model is on the list. Will look into cursor coords now. Edit: Ok I took a look, and you have your model rotated 90 degrees sideways. If you add the model to the pcspawn_monitor stool, you'll know what I mean. This means the cursor is always rotated 90 degrees aswell, and it appears inverted. Also, the origin appears offset - the screen is floating about 16 units above where the object position is reported. Move the screen down into the middle of the grid in your modelling program. So: 1) Rotate your model the same way the CSS monitor is rotated 2) Move the screen into the middle, not floating above Otherwise, great work.
Well, I have downloaded the latest SVN using tortoise.. Installed PC mod on almost clean gmod install. When I'm trying to use Chatserv I get an error, second time 3 of 4 times my whole Gmod freezez and crashes.. Anyone? Tried the version on gmod.org aswell. :/
This needs documentation about how to use a server. Yes, I've read the thread.

ERROR: GAMEMODE:'ScoreboardHide' Failed: pcmod/cl_gui.lua:152: attempt to index field 'Gui' (a nil value) I get that in console whenever i try to open my scoreboard...what would cause that and how can i fix it?

Unless you go on single player, I'd suggest deleting you PCMod folder, then it won't happen and you can use whatever version of PCMod the server has.
