This addon works, and I'm sure spacetech will have a fix for it soon. Edit: Just checked, the admin menu still lets you delete players' props. No other clients were connected so I couldn't try to add buddies, but people were doing buddies earlier on my server, I'm not 100% sure though.

People just joined. I set one as a buddy, they picked up my props. Confirmed.. With this hotfix that Hatred posted, this addon works just as good as it ever has.

So the bug I submitted is going to go completely ignored? This bug has been around for ages, I just decided now would be a good time to try to get it fixed when all the mods are getting fixed up for Gmod11...

It seems for most people the space in name error is still there. I have this problem on my server no errors are reported it just won't clean up or buddy names with spaces.

Hi guys.. Is there a way to disable world entity protection? I got tired of this addon blocking usage of stargates by their own users, and fixed that with a tweak a few pages back. Now, people can't touch world stargates with the physgun because it belongs to "World". Other prop systems would simly say the owner is 'none' and let you take ownership. I'd prefer that. I think it's a bit ridiculous not to give a "world entity protection on / off" option. Oh, and when touching something not yours it spams "This is not your prop" tooltip bubbles across the right side really fast. Is there any way to fix this? I don't mean to sound picky, but since this is the ONLY working prop protection system that I can find, I'd like to help make it perfect :) - Thanks a bunch.

The current version has the world entity protection off for stargates so people can use them, but not remove them
I edited the one just released, v1.3.4. It allows usage of the Stargates, but not modifying them with the toolgun / or moving with the physgun. If you look in the console after the map has loaded it says xxx number of props belong to world. So the gates AND any props belonging to the map when spawned are untouchable by the physgun and the toolgun. I'd just like to disable world protection all together. Good to see all the fixes spacetech but now if you try and touch a world prop, it spams the screen with This is not your prop errors untill you let go and if you only just click it still gives 2-3 errors
Isn't the world prop protection obsolete now? Since GMod now has it's own world prop protection? Now it prevents the use of the colorable room in gm_construct.

Indeed, it will only limit the physgun, and the protection of the colorable room in gm_construct is set in the entities. Maybe we should request that he makes the world protection complete with a toolgun_limited convar? That will disallow toolguns on map entities unless it is set as allowed in the entity. Then we don't need world prop protections anymore and the colorable room will still be useable.
Well reguardless of the physgun protection built into Garrysmod, I know its SPP protecting all the World props because of this message when the server is starting up: [code] SERVER: ================================================ SERVER: Simple Prop Protection: 453 props belong to world SERVER: ================================================ [/code]

The same simplicity of this, but protects more entities. But SpaceTech has still done a good job.

Hi Spacetech, What exactly did you fix with the gates? Everything seems the same to me. They were working fine before... my whole shpeal about the stargates was just to tell you I'd like to know if there's a way to disable ALL world protection. Not just for gates, for EVERYTHING. My reason being is because I'd like to be able to build on the ice blocks on KOBL in sb_gooniverse, and wire world stargates etc. Just tell me what lines to modify and I can do it myself. I'm not asking for an option coded in or anything... P.S. The new version doesn't work for me. It's good for deleting props and such after someone leaves, but doesn't protect props from only the owner touching them. I may have something that conflicts?
