Garry used to donate cash prizes towards the winners of the Gamemode Coding Contests back when they had a whole subforum (which is why if you look through the GCC archives you see dozens of new and interesting gamemodes - they were being motivated to make them look amazing). The GCC's stopped for a bit, I'm assuming because GranPC + Stanley Parable, but they're starting back up again so garry's probably awarding money again.

£500 for first, £250 for second, and £100 for third I believe.
Though now this will likely be £375 each for the two tied first, and £100 for third.
