Sweet mod, we can finally make sustainable space stations, and all the gasses in space. The tokomak gens are cool too. Though, the inverters might make just a bit much oxygen.
Good work!
Woopee! I love it. Good job Lua Kinged.
Sorry for Bump but does anyone know where the Methane Rehydrator is i cant seem to find it under any of the Cats.
If your not using the SVN version, try the updated garrysmod.org version I've just uploaded. ;)

Really nice models you have there. That kind of quality is rare these days. Might download this now that so many things have been fixed. Incredible work man!
Okay this is sweet enough for me two jump back onto LS and SB and such. I left in 2007 when the august update bricked it, and i didn't have much of an understanding of LS then.
HOW DOES THIS SHIT WORK?
This is great, but might I suggest implementing a size categorisation for the deuterium / tritium collectors? Of course, you'd probably need a new model for the large variant so it also depends on the desire of the modeler to create another, but as it is I need to add an awful lot of D / T collectors to power my systems.
You should add a multiplier wire input to the gas thrusters, and when do you think we will see hover balls?
This is great!
While this thread is still on the front page, may I suggest that you be able to collect deuterium from water? Maybe you could also be able to convert hydrogen to deuterium or tritium, assuming chemistry works that way.
Also, some bigger tokomak reactors might be in order. Tokomak reactors that are on par with the largest fusion reactors that come with life support. After all, the tokomaks are technically the "real" fusion reactors (though they should probably need coolant as well).
And just to echo joopie, I too await the powered hoverballs.

As far as I am aware (and there's plenty of room for me to be wrong: I'm hardly an expert) you can't easily shift H to hydrogen-2 or hydrogen-3 (or D, T, deuterium or whatever else you want to call them) but since they are just isotopes of hydrogen you could add a convenience device to add / remove neutrons to whatever's fed through it if you needed a device to do that.
I need the SVN URL to LS3 and RD3, (phew Acronyms) because the forum link doesn't really work anymore... please! :D

Did you try http://www.Glua.net?
This is the one you need to download off of the site ----> RD3 Necessary SVN
um, im just wandering, on glue what ones do i need to dl for this gas systems?
An excellent mod I can't wait to use it! (Difficult from college behind web proxy and on a laptop not very conducive for games)
But I will make a suggestion I just thought of.
I haven't played with it yet but I'm assuming that the tokamak reactor only produces energy right?
If it already produces He then disregard the following:
Why not also have it produce Helium as that is resultant in the fusion equation anyways.
D + T → He + n (n= neutron)
Then we'd have an inert gas to play with! I know not necessarily the most useful thing in spacebuild but you could have it produce balloons for fun! Or store that He to fill your dirigible or weather balloon later on.
Also it might be interesting to include the oh so dangerous (n) neutron radiation hazard (that degrades actual reactors) requiring the proper radiation shielding but conceptually that might be considered to already be in the reactor.
Also have you considered adding Helium-3 (He-3)?
Link here for more info particularly in the "Extraterrestrial Supplies" and "Power Generation" sections.
Another handy informative link.
Considering the rarity on Earth I'd imagine it would be nigh impossible to find on habitable planets or even just planets with a magnetic field.
I most enjoy the concept of mining on the moon and asteroids and also planets without atmospheres (probably don't have a magnetic field as well). Or perhaps collecting it from space (at a lower rate) from solar radiation.
One could theorize creating it from ordinary He which can be found within the atmosphere in trace amounts but considering that He is also a byproduct of He-3 fusion it would be a bit unfair and unrealistic or uneconomical (Considering why we don't do this in real life!) plus I just love the idea of mining the moon.
Wow, love the mod! Adds a new fun level of challenge to SB. I would really love it though if you brought back the energy hoverballs. They were great for building air ships.
Cool but.... The Snake website wont work :<
After a closer look, nothing downloaded from Glua worked... All of the files gave me a HUGE amount of winrar errors while unpacking.
There is a new url (+ a public link now for the svn's).

Thanks for the new link snake. I've updated it in the first post now.

When I get around to it, yes. I'll bring back powered hoverballs. :)
Not to rush you or anything but what is the status on those hoverballs?! It's the only reason why i am not playing garrys/SB3! =)
I have a problem. The massless thrusters in fact are not massless. With the massless option checked it's not different than when it's unchecked. I tested it with regular massless thrusters and the regular massless thrusters have way more force. I was wondering if this is going to be fixed?

You made sure there were no hoverballs involved, right?
I cant get this to work =( The devices that make energy require stuff that comes from things, and the on function keeps turning to off for some reason! Any help?
Why not make the Tritium and Deuterium colectors use hydrogen? That way we will have more that 1 uses for a RD resource...
(Actually ,I put the "why not" part, just out of kindness:) )
Great addon very well done.
Hi. Something wrong with the update.
I get this lua errors and i cant use generators/storage stools.
weapons\gmod_tool\stools/gas_generator.lua:94: attempt to call global 'RD2_ToolRegister' (a nil value)
weapons\gmod_tool\stools/gas_storage.lua:96: attempt to call global 'RD2_ToolRegister' (a nil value)
You need to change the line in the 2 files from "RD2_ToolRegister" to "CAF_ToolRegister" then it works fine
Edit:
I adapt the powered hoverballs from ls2 to ls3 yesterday, they did work if the cds from ls3 is disabled (i dint find the reason yet)
i can upload them, if Syncaidius allow it...
hey i have a question about LS3, RD3, i would like to get it working, but it doesnt work i dont know why...i put it in addons with svn and it doesnt work...and do i have to use it on spacebuild maps?
