I know this isn't the mapping section but since you posted those screenshots, I may as well give criticism.
In my opinion, I feel like you could do a better job with your map. Overall, it feels blocky at every inch of the map where buildings are literally just blocks. And in the second screenshot, the one thing that intrigues me is: how is there Combine architecture and metals in those apparent sewers? Doesn't make any sense.
But I feel that you're trying to keep up the hard work in making a city environment map, so good job on that.
But anyhow, I'm liking the gamemode so far from what I can see from the screenshots. I always fancied battlefield myself, so replicated that UI will surely attract many players.

I want to make the map playable first, then I'll focus on making everything less blocky. As for the combine architecture, I'll see what I can do.

I'll have to think of what I can use for Combine versions of stuff like jeeps and tanks, but don't be surprised if at the end the combine tank is a strider.
Yeah I guess I could use that as a jeep or armored car or something. Gonna be a bit difficult to animate.

That was actually what I had in mind. The problem is that half of the model has HD textures, and half has low quality textures, so it looks weird.

Mmm, I'd go with what Skullorz said - make it a little darker. I'd add a tiny amount of red back into it.

We scrapped the orange and put it back to red. The orange just doesn't look as good as the red does.

That's awesome! Also City 17's design was created by Victor Atanasov, the first name you see in the beggining of HL2, who is a Bulgarian. The city is based on Sofia, the capital city of our country (yes, I'm Bulgarian, and proud of it).

The thing is that Birkutgrad (City 17) might be based on Sofia, but it's actually located in Varna. So I'm really not sure if it's gonna be based on anything real.

The gamemode is hardly playable right now. We'll let you know when it is, though.
