Agreed about the looks of cars from that era. They may have been big, inefficient boats, but god damn did they nail that 'long 'n low' look perfectly.

Quite lovely, mate. By the way, I found one of the photos I snapped of the real deal that I wound up passing up:

I know right?
Also, would you guys, for sake of accuracy, like the Typhoon to handle like TDM's Syclone with a bit different suspension, or be a completely different car?

I like the handling well enough on the Syclone, so going for something similar would be good. My Blazer and my friend's Sonoma, which are what the Typhoon and Syclone are based on, handle similarly enough, so making it something with drastically different driving dynamics doesn't make much sense.
[editline]22nd February 2014[/editline]
Also, Lonewolfie, speaking of things like TDM's cars, there's one thing I'd recommend you add to your basepack for all of your cars: a colorable metallic texture, because that just makes the colors pop and gives your subscribers the wonderful ability to replicate colors like GM's Space Blue Metallic, as seen here:
[t]http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bArdc3JGm0U/Uwi_HTUIkDI/AAAAAAAABRo/N8kVbQN9Bcw/s1600/2014-01-10_00004.jpg[/t]
Without the metallic skin, it looks dull and boring. That's something I'd recommend every car guy here make available as a skin option, if they don't do so already. If you already do have it as an available option, please ignore this as I'm probably experiencing some sort of error that's preventing me from seeing it.

Lone doesn't wan't to use others materials and textures too much, but if you want you can try getting him to improve his existing paint textures and add some new ones, I would love that too.
EDIT: Also I will try and make my own suspension, it all depends on how he does the model, suspension travel and wheel size has a very dramatic effect on the script.
EDUCATION TIME!
Too little suspension travel in the models rigging and you are very limited in making the suspension both softer and/or stiffer. Wheel size also can mess it up, while you can just change the wheel radius in the script, it wont match the model, so if the model has big wheels and you want it to look right, then you have to make the radius in the script to match.
What I'm trying to say is: bigger wheel size = the less rotation it has so you have to give it more power to spin properly, and smaller wheels = more rotation so you have to give it less power to spin properly. In the scripts, Power is defined by: "HorsePower", "MaxRPM", "MaxSpeed", and "TorqueFactor". Mess around with this for a while and you will figure it out! :)
So yes, I'll make it like the Syclone with higher, softer, floatier suspension akin to an SUV.

I can understand that. Danish was a few years behind the curve for the same reason when it came to adding metallic textures(sgt Sickness I believe was the first guy to do a proper one for his GTA Hearse, back in 2011) but when he finally added one recently it was a net gain for all of his cars. I just bring it up because the Typhoon had some amazing paint colors, like Radar Blue, which was a metallic paint like this:

Naturally I'd like his Typhoon to be the best it can possibly be, and a good metallic texture, even if it's not the same as TDM's, would be a net gain for the whole lineup.
Also noted about the Typhoon suspension. Sounds like you know what you're doing, since the suspension is going to be more floaty on the real deal because the rear shocks are air shocks, rather than the firmer struts on the Syclone.
[editline]22nd February 2014[/editline]
Also, when I'm done with that Rally fighter, I'd like to borrow the model of the Typhoon for a bit of an experiment. You see, back in '89 GM did a concept called the GMC Kalahari that was basically the four-door Typhoon, as pictured here:

It was the precursor to the Typhoon, Syclone, and the 4-door models of that range, and I'd very much like to see if I can make one here.
Mind Blowing Information
The more you know! I'll ask him if he hasn't seen this post yet, I would love to see that! I actually didn't notice they were 2-door even on the Typhoon, probably because I've never seen one of these in person or really looked into it.

Yep, it's a pretty cool little tidbit. They also did a Syclone concept in '89, however it looked a bit different then:

I'm sure you can probably tell what they did to achieve the Syclone everyone loves today: they borrowed the Kalahari's bodykit and such. Also, much obliged on the help, man. I've been modeling cars for three years now and making concept cars has always been one of my favorites. Completing the trio of GMC Turbocharged models would be fantastic, since it's never been done before.

Those wheels look awesome, I like the wing too.
My computers in repair right now so work has to hault for a while.
About a metalic texture, I'll definatly add some more shared materials in future. I should probably also add a base pack to the workshop so i dont need to update every addon each time.
And sure, I can send you the typhoon model when I get my computer back :p

Thanks a bunch Wolfie. And best of luck with your computer! You don't want it winding up dead like my old gaming tower, because then you can't continue with your vehicular escapades of brilliance!

Ooooh, what did you used to have? I bet mines more powerful :3 (If it still worked) Thats what 32GB ram does

My old tower was some zombified acer that I managed to make into a competent gaming PC through a lot of custom parts and tooling. I managed to get it to run Crysis to run at max settings when that still mattered, though. Yours is most definitely more powerful (I couldn't choke any more RAM out of the damn thing because poor and it was still DDR2) though I wound up bluescreening it with a lot of 3D modeling software, video editing(I was an old podcasting co-host during the Machinima boom in 2007-2009), and photo manipulation(was in school for graphic design for two years). Needless to say, the Transfigurigationator(seriously) couldn't keep up and promptly died during an importation of this model into Blender, for texturing:

Fun times. So now, I'm trying to get a job, trying to keep a roof over my head, stave off the effects of some major mental issues, and all that. Even with this crappy little Macbook though I still have the ability to sculpt out low-poly models and such. I think it's the only thing keeping me sane at the moment.
..sorry if that got a bit heavy.

Thanks guys. Hoping things get better soon, and not just for me. Losing your gaming tower really sucks, and I hope both of yours get repaired or replaced soon. When I get mine replaced, I don't suppose you guys would be willing to show me how to script and animate these things, would you? I've got a decent collection of vehicles that I've been building here, including that Chrysler, a few concept cars, a 4-Door Chevy Blazer that's similar to TDM's, and a police truck based on the Chrysler you see above(which has been remodeled into a Durango). I'd very much like to finish them soon.

Utes are pretty cool. I've been playing around with a few Camaro models trying to make a modern take on the El Camino(my favorite ute by far) and they just look friggin cool. I'd like to see a few more in Gmod.
How's the progress on that rally fighter yo?
How's the progress on that rally fighter yo?
It's coming along alright. Still correcting geometry on the ass-end of the model. Wolfie has made part of the interior work easier by providing some parts though, so when I build the interiors (the car has two) they'll be of very nice quality.

I won't yell at you for requesting cars, since I already listened to Biaxail's idea, but honestly, you really don't need to request those cars, someone WILL make them, without a doubt. Famously awesome cars like the Silvias and RX-7s don't just go unnoticed.
I was always going to do an NSX, I love dat car :3
