hopefully when garry fixes Gmod from the Steam update that works, cos it's steam that broke Gmod, instead of Gmod breaking the addons, lol.
Yeah, it's broken it seems, but I have no idea what's broken about it since it gives no errors at all.
And I honestly don't have the time or motivation at the moment to spend a day blindly debugging it.
But you say it could be something with garrysmod that's broken currently?
As everyone has reported, the grid has stopped working for me after the last garry's mod update. Also the CPU and GPU screens are missing their menu contents.
Smart snap version 0.9.5 works completly, without any bugs or issues
Hmm, that's funny. I'm using 1.0 and it is working fine for me. Grid, snapping, everything!

Need an update :( only works sometimes wierdly enough, and usually not when i really need it.
Go into the create multiplayer and make a LAN match, it all works in there, animations, smartsnap, it all comes back.

I removed smart snap from addons then updated all of my orange box games with the fix (the new update) then reinstalled after that i verified the game cache, this seemed to work for me.
It should all be fixed now anyway, all the animations are coming back for NPC's, vehicles and players, so don't worry about removing it or deleting anything, it's all good I believe.

Hmmm apparently not. I still get FPS drops into the 5 FPS when using SmartSnap. Even with [url=http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?p=13509200#post13509200]aVoN's Garbage collection script[/url] it still has problems with increasing per frame memory consumption.
Makes it quite un-enjoyable to use.

Then it must be something local with you I guess, or it could be some other addon interfering.
Also, just for fact, avon's addon uses the same workaround I use in smartsnap to prevent the stuttering, so it won't "improve" anything with smartsnap, only addons in general.

Try a wipe. Fresh gmod + reinstall addons (leave out the useless ones).

I just tried smartsnap and it works.
Did you check the settings in the q-menu?
The box has disappeared, but the snapping does work but I still can't see the lines. After I press e my hole view locks onto the point and I can't move the view. I'm going to go to an older version to see if it works then.
I now use this whenever I build. I can't build without it. Its so much better than taking 10 minutes getting an exact angle

Yes, that's what we always say because that's basically what it always is.
If it works for 60.000+ users... but not a handful, then I and everyone else assume that something is wrong with those few users, could be addons, faulty graphics driver, old drivers, old smartsnap, broken gmod or something else that has borked. Unless you can provide error messages or something concrete then there is nothing I or anyone else can do since it actually appears to work. I can't fix something that is as far as I can tell... working.
you guys are unsung heros, it would be so hard to make precise things without this, i love you.
