All the Planet Textures will be removed from the content pack once I've finished implementing generated planet textures. What's going to take up space is probably the ship textures. All in all, I will release a content pack once the gamemode is operational. FastDL will also be added for further quick updates. Anyways, I've been optimizing and cleaning up the gamemode so far so it runs more stable. More specifically around the networking, trying to minimize it as much as possible. I already cut it down to half since the last update on this thread.
News: Fixed some problems for the beta testers. -The objects in space no longer hide when looking at certain angles -New engine effect update -New turret slot HUD design -Reduced networking between the turret slots by 80%. -Initiated research in Planet Texture generator. It will be available within next week for testing! -Initiated AI scripting for pirates and drones -The solar system names in the galaxy map now display the names whether you're hovering over it or not. I need some icon artists for turrets n items. Anyone would like to volunteer?

Finally took the time to create a simple Death script for the gamemode so players can die... also means, that I will be performing a closed beta test with people selected from the DV2 group chat. Need to see how the Player VS Player works out here with simple guns n shit. The test will take place tomorrow after work (aprox. 17:00 PM) OR if I get the HP and Shield done today it will open earlier tomorrow. I like it more than the old one but could use more lence flares. :D Also idk about you guys, but I REALLY like the lighting + models for those asteroids! :D

I love the concept of this gamemode and definitely enjoyed the older ones, but I've gotta ask.. This one isn't going to dissolve because of some stupid grievances between the gamemode developer(s), ingame moderators and players like the other ones, will it? I'd love to see this gamemode stick around for longer than a month or two before vanishing because there was too much drama and the remaining staff were too stuck up to at least release the gamemode for others to tinker with.

Just that I'd love to see this gamemode stick around for the long run, as opposed to the older ones. 2 years, though? Haven't even heard of this version being in development
The gamemode has been in development for a lot less than 2 years. During the period of GMod 13 Beta, I was taking it slow, due to the massive updates. I spend time on experimenting new methods for the gamemode, as I was absolutly obsessed with finding a way to make the map a lot bigger. Was worth it! :D Also, @Freakypred I wouldn't hand out this gamemode, as I've spend too much time on this. Giving it out, means a heavy loss of potential in the gamemode and I wanna rebuild the glory of Sunrise, as it was before. There were complications back in the days between the developers and modders, but this gamemode is pretty massive compared to the other versions of Sunrise. First came Sunrise, then came Devinity 1 (UniversalRP)... now: Devinity 2 Derp..... In total, I think I spend about a few months of worktime on this project. If you count in all the researching I've been doing to make Devinity 2 possible.... Yeah, 2 years.

It's one of the most interesting gamemodes made for Garry's Mod that I've played. Good to have some kind of fight, after the recent tests with the people from the Devinity 2 Group Chat... Surprisingly no one appears to want to try out the gamemode so I seem to invite the same people in. Please, if you wish to join and try the gamemode attend to the DV2 group chat more often, else you will DEFINETLY not be chosen. I only choose people from the chat. Well it look nice :) , I really loved sunrise but this one look even better, can't wait. So the map is not 'classic' it's just a box where you do render stuff ? Kinda weird but if it work and if it does not lag why not :) .

Turns out I forgot to add something to it when you load the game, but it should all be fixed now! Further more I've been adding some more stuff on the planets. That's awesome. Is there any possibility that the planets will have their own atmospheres/skies view able from the surface?

For the moment I was taking pictures from my ship as the actual walking part is still in an experimental stage. I'll put up some vids when it's ready. Back in the secret Devinity 2 tech lab located around Denmark, my brilliant friend, Dustpup, is working on the REAL models for use with the gamemode. The current ones so far has been all tests and prototypes, so here we go: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/B7Hv6H7.jpg[/img_thumb] Brilliant progress with the model and more to come. Further more, I'd like to say.... Journalists... stop using the old Devinity 1 thread as a link because it's dead. NOW meanwhile I have been optimizing and preparing some stuff for some upcoming tests.. I need to finish up the shop inside the station (the NPC ship) and I also took the time to fix the stupid AI jiggling about after the upgraded movement system 2-3 months back. It is now functioning pretty well so far, I just have to make them smarter but were getting there!
I am glad that you are taking a ton of time on this instead of rushing it, so far you have done so much incredible work, I can't to see what you can put out on release!
