Hey, World of Warcraft servers are used to hold a lot of people as well. They have all kinds of servers though.
They also have a massive playerbase
And have pvp and non pvp zones Devinity 2 non pvp zones being tech 5 and below.
But tech 5 and below systems suck. They provide nothing but cheap old rocks
But tech 5 and below systems suck. They provide nothing but cheap old rocks
Tech 5 and below is really there for new people to use those "cheap old rocks" to get Money. How else would they venture out further?
But tech 5 and below systems suck. They provide nothing but cheap old rocks
Well its a matter of risk vs reward you want the good stuff you got to risk being attacked and if you don't want to die then at least wait till you get into something that can fight back or survive long enough to actually escape. A new player shouldn't be going to a high tech zone right off the bat. that's like a level 1 player in a game going against the end game boss.
i've held off on attacking low tech people in high zones because i don't want to discourage new players from quitting permanently and stunting the growth of this gamemode, and i think all others should do the same, but once it starts picking up in pace, by all means i think it's well worth it to start attacking peaceful miners with low level ships in high level zones.
Why would you attack someone that's done nothing bad to you?
Why would you attack someone that's done nothing bad to you?
To take their items or discourage them from being in a certain system.

What Dmaster said and if that player has a bounty on them or i am protecting a system for a faction.
I only just noticed I made a typo in some of the NPCs, which caused a small serverside lua error, that would later evolve into spamming thousands upon thousands of "bugged" NPCs around the whole universe.
I sent a quick patch to the OP and the server will be rebooted as soon as possible.
Server is crazy laggy today.
Server is crazy laggy today.
It's due to NPCs being bugged until the server is restarted.
Server back to normal. All well and lagg-free. :)

I'm going to need TWO Garry Newmans for this one...
You should take it as a compliment, Maw. Apparently you coded the NPCs so well that's all other players will want to fight against.
Exactly why I posted what I posted before.

My comment was purely satirical.

This added on to what I said about PvE servers. Some people want to fight NPCs and figure out crafting recipes without the stress or risk of dying and loosing items. So stop rating me dumb ratings, asshole.

You missed my point, I suppose. I was joking with that comment, considering my stance on the matter that I stated before. This gamemode is meant to be purely multiplayer, playing it on singleplayer is literally gimping it. There's no point to have such a large universe if only one player will be on it.
Also, don't fuss over ratings. That's also something that lacks a point.

As much as you are pushing for PvE servers, it's not going to happen, so please stop asking. It eliminates the whole point of creating this gamemode and all of the work that goes on behind the scenes. If you do not want to take the risk to go out into none protected systems then you are not going to get a greater reward; it's the simple Risk vs. Reward mental calculation you do in your head. Plus at this point in time would be the best to go out and find your best ore and crafting combination as most alliances are in name only and don't enforce anything (though some on this thread will boast otherwise).
tl;dr: Risk vs Reward; and stop being a baby.
What's the server IP? I've been looking everywhere for it and I can't find it.
GAMESERVER: 82.199.155.124:27015

Why is that not in the OP?

Also why is not all the content in the Steam Workshop content pack? I thought it was odd that I needed to download more content after I subscribed to the Workshop thing.

Doesen't really matter. The extra stuff downloaded from the server is rather small and wont really be noticed too greatly.

Some of the things came from my own base gamemode, at which ALL my gamemodes are derived from. Not that it's anything big. Also, some of the stuff contained spaces and big letters, which I plan to clean up in the future. You cannot upload files with capitalized letters in them or spaces to the workshop.
Black pearl aint gonna take shit from noone.
regardless of what anyone might think about the gamemode, the content itself, as art and imagery, is undeniably impressive. Anyone that has played anything on Garry's Mod should be able to tell the incredible difference in quality upon joining.
Honestly I'm not even trying to nutride, it's just really refreshing to see more gamemodes setting standards. The guys behind GMT/Cinema, etc are other good examples of excellent workmanship.
