if perp would die, then someone would make a better rp gamemode, right?
Some of the reason this game mode is still around is because you can make a lot of money off of it. I have spent 100$ on PERP so it kind of explains why people like me and others play it

To be honest I think PERP would have been better, if there only was 3 - 5 servers and not 300.
nexusowner just to let you know currently in gmod13 there is like like 3-5 perp servers.

I'm so sick of these "What do you look for in a Perp server?" threads or "what makes a DarkRP server good?" threads. Is it so hard to understand that if you do something unique people will eventually flock to that server. Instead of hosting a gamemode that has been leaked and just about anybody with a brain could host, you should try to put up something different.
----History and Status of PERP---- =PERP Ownership= PERP is copyrighted. Copyrights can be done anonymously but it is widely known that Killslick owns rights to the gamemode. The only reason Killslick owns the game is because it was never made public and has been passed down twice. (hunts-->Venom-->Killslick) =Making a PERP Server= You can actually buy a license to make a server under the gamemod from Killslick, but most people pirate it and their servers, some are actually good but illegal, get shut down by Facepunch and the DMCA. You have to contact Killslick directly to obtain a server license. =International Copyright= This applies to other countried because of the BERNE Convention and subsequent treaties which include 167 out of the 195 existing countries. Almost every country that you can find a server host from (possibly any country) has signed this treaty. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berne_Convention_for_the_Protection_of_Literary_and_Artistic_Works =Generally= If you really piss killslick off he will come after you and get you banned from anything involving PERP in any way. He gets a lot of internet hate, some justified, most not. Nevertheless PERP is a great gamemode and is heavily dependent on strong staff to fix failrp situations and manage players.

While the international copyright section is interesting on paper, it doesn't exactly fly in real life. For example, I know several hosts across the world that have received apparent DMCAs for hosting PERP on their servers and they just chuck them and nothing actually becomes of it. However, most are shut down due to the massive ddos that occurs after a certain time period.
NNNNNNNNNECRO. Start reading post dates people. And for the copyright thing; It would cost him more to take you to court than he would actually get from the case, if anything.
