Of course it was :v
Ah, it just fitted well. :s
It still is.
Even the new menu is just a DHTML panel that goes fullscreen whilst loading.
No but I mean it's looks, when I first got Garry's Mod on steam in 2006 (yes I got it when it was released, I was an early player. So I remember it well :P) I believe it was just a derma window in the middle, I think it was a white background, with a blue/gray window that just listed the downloads. Or maybe that was Gmod 9. I can't remember, But I'm 100% certain there was a loading screen before the one with all the floating icons, that was just y'know a lua loading screen.
Could we make an HTML version of this. I love this. good old days
You're thinking of the lua download screen, you used to be able to set a 512x512 image in it or something along those lines of size and it would display while downloading the dua files for your server. That was how it was before the OB/Source 2007 engine update.
I'm pretty sure the downloads didn't come through the lua download screen either, I think it just showed the main menu background until it got to the lua download screen.

I'd love to make one, but unfortunately we are limited.
I tried and failed, much like
I made a javascript version of it before, but it didn't work so hot. The version of awesomium gmod uses is too old and garbage to handle it. It would cause the CPU usage to spike to 100% and would lag like balls.
Think you could update the link with your new version?

It's the same project, why shouldn't it use the same thread? Other people would like to download it as well, you know.
