Does it happen with your contraptions or just everyone else's? I have never had any issues with it, but it could be they are spawning using materials that you don't have, that usually freezes the game quite a bit.
I've never actually built anything with SProps so far, so, others'.
The materials thing is a no-go, I've thought of that and asked people if they're using materials I don't have, and they say they're not.
How would they know what materials you don't have lol? Just make sure the add-on is updated. I don't know what else to tell you, its nothing to do with my models.

Because when I ask they say "I'm not using any materials at all, they're just the base materials of the prop"
I'm not the only one who freezes, though. Like over half the people on the server freeze for a good 5-10 seconds or more depending on how many SProps are being spawned.
Maybe its because they all use a 1024x1024 res texture, completely forgot about that. I'll see about lowering it when I fix the mipmaps.

Thanks, much appreciated.
You're a good addon dev, many others I've dealt with over issues I/others have had with their addons just either ignored me, said it was everyone else's fault except theirs, or just was plain unhelpful.
Added these like a week ago, but never posted it.
Some love for non-car people:

In an effort to reduce clutter in the transportation spawnlist, I will soon be combining some models using bodygroups.
The caged lights will be combined with the normal ones, and most likely (not sure yet) wheel a and b will be combined. I realize this will break
some things but it will be worth it. As for wheel d, I am completely reworking it, using bodygroups for rims instead of textures.
What I have so far (a few are not shown):

Obviously the rim textures need work, and is not by any means finished. By the way, anyone know how to
rename the bodygroups? "*.smd" looks bad.

I'm not sure you can have a name inside of a subgroup like that. I think you would have to make a group for each one for it to be nameable.
Okay, I added those wheels. They replace the current Wheel D models, so there should not be any dupe
issues (depending on how you placed your original wheels, non-mirrored should be fine). Currently, adv. duplicator2 cannot dupe bodygroups changed
with garry's bodygroup tool, but that will be fixed soon. This update will break contraptions that used the thick versions of WheelD.
I removed them for now because of the file size of the new wheels. Sorry.
• 7 different rim models (and 1 rimless)
• Reversible tread skins (so they point the correct direction)
Video showing you how to use them:

By the way, I did sharpen and lower the resolution of the default grid texture, so you should re-render all spawn icons.
Why is the weight of almost everything either 24 or 100?
Because you can change it with the weight tool
Because you can change it with the weight tool
I know, but it's still inconvenient to have to change weight of every prop you spawn.
I know, but it's still inconvenient to have to change weight of every prop you spawn.
Uhh???
Its not like I can magically weight them to what every single individual person wants. You will always have to change the weight of every prop from every model pack.

i want wheels to be like 20 because i don't want people to drive cars with 200 kg wheels.

Well, you could do it like PHX, 1 block = 1 kg, 3 blocks = 3 kg, 3x3x3 cube = 27 kg etc., it's really convenient if you just need to try something without wasting time with weight.
Know what isn't convenient? Recompiling six months of work to fix something that isn't broken. Its not going to happen (because its stupid).

Is spending 3 seconds to weight a prop so hard?
Well, you could do it like PHX, 1 block = 1 kg, 3 blocks = 3 kg, 3x3x3 cube = 27 kg etc., it's really convenient if you just need to try something without wasting time with weight.
It takes like two fucking seconds( probably less than that ) to weight a prop. By the time you get done with your contraption, it's going to end up not being the right weight anyway. Why bother when it's like shadow said, why fix something that isn't broken.
You may have noticed the new wheels don't mirror properly with PA. If you want them to, the server will need to have Tweak's PA latest update.
You should check to see if a player has "data/sprops_version.txt" before trying to tonumber it.
[ERROR] addons/sprops/lua/autorun/client/sprops_lua.lua:17: bad argument #1 to 'tonumber' (value expected)

Don't mean to be a pest, but this NEEDS to replace PHX.
PHX is an ancient, outdated mess of a model pack, with unneccesary props, broken props, and props that aren't even in the spawnmenu.
Please Garry, do your community a favour. Implement SProps. Help us out every once in a while. Show us that you care...

It's not like Unrezt has said multiple times in this thread that he doesn't want it to be included with GMod, nope. Not at all.
I don't want to bitch around, but

Thank you for installing SProps!
Comparing your currently installed version of SProps with the latest revision...
Your version (r168) is up to date.

seeing this everytime I open up the console is quite annoying, and it's huge.
Yes, you are welcome.
Yes, I am running an up-to-date version.
Yes, I know where to check out the latest news.
I know that already.
I want this post to be constructive criticism, so here is a suggestion:

Maybe add a first-time message where you print some useful information (as a VGUI panel, maybe?).
Other than that, nice work.

Did you even read what I wrote?
I guess I did get a little overzealous with the console spam. I just changed it.
Now it just notifies you with a game hint if your version is outdated, or if you didn't install the spawnlists; nothing else.
Just a quick suggestion for some props; How about hollow dome segments? Like quarter and half domes with the standard plate thickness. Would make building curved structures where both sides are visible quite a bit easier. Also I love the new license plates and steering wheels.
How can i enable the Context menu for a server? (C > Skin / Model) since this seems not to be working by default.
It's default as far as I know...
- Press and hold C
- Mouse over prop
- Right click

doesnt work in my server.
[Fixed] It seems to be a file wich is located in garrysmod/lua/autorun/properties/ (2 files: Skin.lua and bodygroup.lua)
