yeah he need fix... It's not all server he get crash because the stacker on my server, i test with stacker and he crash when someone use him(not alway) but when i don't have stacker, no crash
If you don't use it right it will crash.
If you don't use it right it will crash.
It's extrem useful
I am having problems using the stacker. It used to work fine but all the sudden it just spontainously stoped working in the middle of the game. I see no error in the console. I do see the ghost, but when i click, nothing happenes. I only use stacker in single player mode and I have tried removing the file and putting a new one in, but the smae thing happened. Can anyone help?

This is a brilliant STool nice work!
This is a great tool, totally indispensable, but there's room for improvement IMO....echoing Miiga and Conman5's comments, would it be possible to make miniumum number of copies 1, having zero can be difficult for people who are unfamiliar with the problem (as I was until a few weeks ago). Also, is there any way we could stack a whole contraption and not just a single prop? How about retaining things like physical properties, weight, fin settings etc? Finally, could a "parenting" option be added, in addition to the welding?
Totally love it. Helped me so much, though it did take me a while to get used to it.
Nice bump, gives me excuse to ask what's happening with this? Is Overload still alive?
Can you or someone add a stack relevant to player. For example if i'm looking at the prop and i select stack left it would stack to the left of the prop no matter what way the prop is facing or the world direction because it is a pain in the ass sometimes cause alot of props look the same on all sides like most of the phx props.
Hey, I am kind of new to GMod 10 but I saw your stool and thought it would be a pretty useful tool, so I went ahead and tried to use it and now GMod won't open. Any ideas?
Could it be made so that when using Stacker and selecting the weld option, you could also specify the weld's strength? Edit: Also, if it's not too much trouble, could you add a "Presets" option, to save us a bit of time?
I have modified this stool on my server so that the offset sliders are centered so you can offset -500 to +500 and the spawn amount starts at 1 instead of 0. If I upload here it am I going to get flamed? I could just tell people what to do, it's pretty easy.

With no disrespect to the original author, this IS a great tool, however, there's quite a bit of room for improvement. The above is an obvious thing, but how about adding Presets, like all the default GMod tools seem to have? You can find yourself entering a lot of data into Stacker, so it'd be nice if you could just call up a preset that you'd previously saved.

I was thinking that ever since I started using it.
OK here is the updated version. http://www.cold-incision.com/OLStacker_2.21.zip I haven't done much lua programming but I'll look at the other tools and see if I can add Presets to this one. Edit: And here is a new version with Presets :) http://www.cold-incision.com/OLStacker_2.3.zip ************** * CHANGELIST * ************** v2.3 = Added Presets v2.21 = Changed offsets to center with -500 to +500 instead of 0 to 1000. Changed Min props from 0 to 1 and max props from 10 to 20.
Edit: This looks very kewl, thanks :)
Could someone please make it so the slider only works with whole numbers instead of floats? You never get the exact number you want with sliders thanks to them working with decimal numbers - also, I'd say this about sliders in general, not just on stacker. PS I can think of 2 other things: 1) A "Parenting" option (as they're a lot stronger than welds) and 2) A "Power-welding" option, where each subsequent prop is twice the weight of the previous one. This would considerably aid the stability of contraptions. Further explained below.... http://www.wiremod.com/index.php?showtopic=3490
I'm working on a new version (based of this old one). I've rewritten the control panel using the new DForm controls instead, fixed a bunch of problems with ghosting, made it use the standard prop spawn function (for proper prop limits), and other shit. I might add that weight option, but not the parenting, it's too buggy and tool gun traces fail to fit parented ent.
Is this going to be released with the Wiremod SVN updates tad? Edit:
Could someone please make it so the slider only works with whole numbers instead of floats?
Which slider are you talking about in particular? If you are talking about the offsets and angles, I use decimals all the time with them. I usually measure props with OL_Measuring Stick and use that result to calculate offsets that I need.
Is this going to be released with the Wiremod SVN updates tad?
Maybe. I might make a toolbox of stools including some others I've made.

Edit:
Maybe. I'm trying to ween myself off infinite-strength welds for use with GCombat, CDS and the AMRAAM stuff :P
Maybe. I might make a toolbox of stools including some others I've made.
Would this toolbox possibly include your Freeze-o-Matic? I'm dying without it! Freezing large contraptions completely piece by piece is torture :(
Are you talking about 'force limit'?
Indeed I am.
