Gotta defend Conna on this one, there is absolutely no evidence of that. As far as I know that is just a rumor. If there is evidence, I'd like to see it, otherwise why should anybody believe your claim?
;)
hell you can even search up backdoor on labpunch and cloud16 devs show up as the people who say it frequently which is great
its been known for well over 2 years that conna had backdoors in openaura...

Wow...
:pwn:
Let's just drop the discussion about Conna and ignore him. I can understand he would be angered if competition arises, I mean who else can argue with making easy money? But anger about NS doesn't need to be manifested as threadshitting. He can then just talk to himself in the third person if we just ignore and report him or whoever else brings up the topic and just return to regular discussion.
Anyways, I have yet to actually set up a Civil's Worker Union type thing.
Agree = Set CWU status based upon the custom class.
Disagree = Have civil protection have access to a CWU card item which can be issued to a player or big distributions to the CWU leader(s), thus giving them CWU status. (Means status can be stolen, thus creating a new market but can not easily be managed by administrators.)
Easiest way to make death cause inventory wipe?
You can probably just call client.character:SetVar("inv", {}) on death where client is the person who just died.
There's something really easy to exploit; create a bunch of characters, drop the CIDs, pick them all up on main character, instant shit ton of rations.

Write some code to delete dropped items that have been untouched for +minutes when changing character.

Cheers. I myself have mistakes like that in the past with Darkrp. The backlash I got was always bigger than I expected. There were two lessons I learned :
- you shouldn't try to annoy specific people in your code. People will hate you for it and drama will occur etc.
- you shouldn't try to obfuscate specific parts of your code. That'll get people suspicious.
The specific mistake I made was a warning dialog when people tried to ban me. I learnt a lot from the drama that caused.
I think this really a mistake many coders make once in a while.
Again, thanks for removing the code.
Lol okay guys i promise not to bring it up anymore but wow busted
@nonestated sorry for confusion ;))

I'm split in half on this one. Usually CWU is a totally new faction created customly as "some" servers don't have a CWU (As when you first made the gamemode I recommended it). So yes I'd like to agree with your post but I also like the idea of a CWU card so...
Solution:
Do both - Have CWU as a custom faction but instead of a CID maybe they have a CWID (Civil Workers ID). I know that realistically you can just put their job on their CID but lets make them feel special?
p.s. Gurrazor, you seem to go through every post on this thread and rate them dumb because you don't like people defending Chessnut. Get a life please or go suck a lemon.

He removed it because he doesn't want you all crying about it.

Sorry i just find that really funny XD
Back on topic, great realese, looking threw the code right now and it looks very well put together and easy to modify. Thanks chess!
What's the limit on characters? How many can you create max per Steam ID?
Is there a way to add a cooldown between character creation? So you can only, for instance, create one character per 24 hours or so?
Easiest way to log character creation? Easiest way to log dropping of CID?
I'm still bothered about the whole players being able to create a bunch of characters to generate a bunch of CIDs then using them for extra rations.

If you want I could whip something up real quick once I get home that checks if a player has a CID when deleting his/her character

Only problem with that is if someone legit loses their ID (Then again if its legit then an admin can most likely PK them if necessary since delete is drastic for an actual RPer). Despite that it has been seen before in another gamemode
EDIT:
Would you look at that, retards from LP are willing to throw money at the internet because they are butthurt. Eat shit kid?

Current HL2RP Github with the /trunk appears to require a password/user authentication.

gurrazor actually owns lemonpunch :V
also in all honesty, you could probably create a new character and just leave the old one there unless it gets pked or something

Oh I thought you meant LifePunch by "LP". The hell is Lemonpunch?
@Johnny it's nice to offer actually, but I doubt it would solve anything unfortunately. I think this can only be solved by logging certain actions and manually checking logs when suspicion arises that someone is "farming" CIDs.
[editline]22nd January 2014[/editline]
Tell ya what, save me some digging around; is there a hook to call when someone drops an item that has the individual and what they're dropping as arguments? I'll code a logging addon or summat.

Well, if you're going to start a HL2 RP server, odds are that most people will misinterpret you when referring to LifePunch as LP. Just, due to the fact that we're the most popular HL2 RP community in Garry's Mod, and have been so since we launched a year ago. I'm however sure that you have a strong name recognition in minigames and that sort of stuff that you currently operate.
Now, you'll have to excuse GTbrawlers for constantly giving us attention in this thread. He seems to be a sensitive kind of guy.
Not planning to start an RP/DarkRP/Any RP server any time soon. :) LifePunch has a "lets fuck around and try out random gamemodes of the month" kind of server, and HL2RP is our interest of the moment.

Anyone knows what the two points added by /areaadd represent?
Is it like, ?
[editline]22nd January 2014[/editline]
Just a random note like that, this gamemode is so addicting that I literally burnt my only 2 pots in less than 2 hours because of it. Not even joking.
[editline]22nd January 2014[/editline]
Now I have to go shopping for pots because I have nothing to cook in anymore.

Any way to change WHICH items a business license grants you and their price? Why on god's sweet earth would you make rations free :P

um I assume you have never been to tnb back when they had multiple populated servers for hl2rp.

If you give some effort into reading what I actually wrote, you'll see that I didn't say that we were more popular than TNB ever was, although I wouldn't rule out that we may have been when we had close 100 player on our server. I don't claim it however.
