Well this thread is a blast. I still make loads of stuff, I just don't post alot of it on facepunch. Though somewhat less now with all the university stuff, but still. I do so also miss Maximash though, I always envisioned he got on a motorbike and drove into the sunset never to be seen again.

There used to be a time when the contraptions section was about people sharing their creations, and receiving constructive criticism to improve. More of a balanced collaborative mutually fun playing field. Your mentality is definitely elitist, this type of attitude is the entire reason that this forum went from what it used to be, to what it is now; a contraption showcase for all the best builders who get together and praise each others work, while lesser builders more or less get marginalized into a group who can do nothing but lurk and endlessly shower praise on those who build better than them to avoid being flamed or ostracized. It's a game, you're meant to have fun. People playing the game are meant to have fun. Loosen the fuck up and understand that having an environment where potentially good builders aren't afraid to share their work is better than some rigidly constrained closed circle jerk. Maintaining a retardedly high, pie in the sky, ivory tower standard for contraptions that are [b]allowed[/b] to be posted just scares people away.

Keep in mind it was one dude out of the entire thread that was being a douchebag about this. I think that's somewhat positive.

I'm usually only a prick to people I've met in-game who were elitist noobs. That or people like Reaper. The spie is a fine example although I joined in the middle of the collapse of this sub-forum. Also, I think it's ironic that this is a poorly modded elitist shitstorm when this site was made for G-Mod and the main thing you do in it is build or pose if you can't code, map, edit, model, or overall "dev". We need new people to help this boost again. I hope that we could get more people to post here so that we don't flame any new posts. Anyone who has the IP for Toshkent or Nodex, would you be kind to post it here so that we could spread the word to others and let people know what it feels like to build with the pros. Also, I recommend drifting servers and spreading the word about FP. I did once and I see some people posted here once or twice but we drove them off. -E2 and Holograms made building complex laggy contraptions useless so coders make all the cool shit now. -Garry never used gmod correctly so he just broke it instead of fixing it so instability is still rampant for BUILDERS at least. -Other people are better at making pretty parented statues and nobody appreciates the mechanics of a contraption anymore, just the looks. -Oh, and everyone on here is a 14 year old troll!
