I would really kinda appreciate it if people would ask before running my work through a two-second filter and posting it, thanks in advance :rolleye:
I REMEMBER SoME of those
Oh I remember most of these.
I remember the majority of these.
Yesterday was the anniversary of Long Tan and I have a serious bee in my bonnet about making a picture to commemorate it, so watch this space

Holy shit that picture is amazing, it's like a painting. Can i ask how did you do this? Only with photoshop? Also do you use graphics tablet?

~OP UPDATED PLUS MORE~ Testing out a friend's model (yes, that's his actual face), as well as my ability to properly dress an M1897 with bayo lug and heatshield. The shading was a bit shoddy, but overall it didn't come out too bad. I'm really happy with the way the 1897 turned out. Map (rp_lot by Symmetry) owns, by the way. I was on a Floyd binge, and became inspired. I like pushing unconventional themes within the HL2 universe, like the fact that not all resistance fighters are immortal heroes with no flaws. Ingame blood spatter saved me PS time and came out okay; most of my time was spent on shading, the flash from the Peacemaker, and the gore. This time, less was definitely more. Perhaps a bit too pinkish-orange, although I did intend it to be dawn/dusk-like lighting. I learned a lot with this, chiefly not to rush and not to assume nobody will notice when I take a shortcut. I was called out by Chesty and Vman immediately for this atrocity against aviation art, and did what I could to unfuck it. The result was still far from perfect, but I think it was definitely an improvement and it was a lot more rewarding to actually do things properly. You won't learn if you don't try. This was inspired by photos taken by fellow Goons in Platoons posters aboard aircraft carriers; I figured I'd try my hand at giving the Pig a worthy send-off. The silhouette allowed me to easily hide the pilot's MW midget-legs and edit the canopy and flaps, as well as add in the background, but it didn't look quite as natural as I had hoped and in hindsight, the distant mountains at the very least should have been lit. First in a planned series of introductions to various resistance characters. I don't know where this is going, if anywhere, but I got some awesome shading practice from this piece. The PR AK-74M, while well-modelled, has a horribly bland skin not helped in the slightest by Source's lighting; I added what details I could through extensive, very fiddly shading work which I then extended across both characters as well. A test for the Panther and skin, as well as to check how RnL maps looked in Gmod. I intended to have a full-blown attack force coming, but posing three RnL ragdolls (two on foot, one in the cupola) was enough to shoot that plan down in flames. Given the angle, I decided to improvise and make it a binocular sight picture (although the lack of real zoom causes some confusion to this end). Somehow this got as many artistic ratings in a day as this entire thread has at time of posting; I can only assume this means that people appreciate the RnL maps? I do too, they're gorgeous. :v: I wasn't sure where I was going with this, but as I added more and more ragdolls (including the MoH ones to try them out), it became obvious: a group photo, with everyone trying to look as warry (war/ree, pl. warries, the act of being a hard cunt, also; a story in some way pertaining to or reminiscent of warfare - it's an ADF word that gets thrown around a lot) as possible. It came out okay, but I way overkilled the shading on the marksman and the dude with the maska and the thousand-yard stares of the MoH models kind of messed me up a bit.
Awesome collection of pictures Rossum. All the hair edits makes me think that you should try making a 80s glam metal-themed shot. :v:
Now don't you go putting ideas into my head at this hour mister

the pictures with the girl escaping the combine in the urban areas reminds me of the mission in black ops where you and [sp]Reznov[/sp] try to escape the prison camp and i only spoiler tagged it because some people havent played black ops yet
These are pretty, the one with the citizen executing the cops has nice colors with very realistic gore effects & the hair make-up is wonderful too. How do you do it btw? Special brush? Doesn't look like smudge tool to me imo [editline]23rd November 2010[/editline] Also, that pick with alyx, a dead zombie, and the chick with nice hair ... alyx face is so :3 idk look at it for a while
you make very very good pictures, rossmum. you should feel very very proud of yourself.
Amazing pictures, the WW2 ones were great.
yay citizens noone ever uses them anymore.
I can remember a lot of these from old times. Brings a tear to my eye. Your nature to be so critical to yourself is unjust in most cases, albeit it helps you make vast improvements I can tell.
I never realized how bad you were until only recently. No offense please. [editline]23rd November 2010[/editline] I mean you've improved
I loved the rim lighting on the Breen pic to be quite honest

Best i have ever seen. Facts I have learned about you: You seem to like the Karabiner 98 Krutz. You have perfectioned the hair editing. Best i have ever seen. You are editing realistic as hell, didn't see the difference between real life or Gmod on that German Throwing the StickGrenade. Summary: Best Poser and Editor i have ever seen in my entire life. = Win.
