That's a Iraqi civilian mask from the gulf war, one from BTZ's is a wehrmacht one, but aside from that the gasmask is actually like one element with the head, so it would require a shit ton of vertex editing to get it off the head.
I spent well over an hour setting up the game to customize my character and get online.
