Mate turst me. I can build phx if i want, just take a look:

*fuckload of images of a phx mess*
Yeah well that's just horrible. I don't know what you were hoping to prove with that.
He failed to realize that vanilla building only includes vanilla props but could be built with whatever non-visualizing utility. The greatest builders of all time used hammer, in my opinion. Take Audo84 for example.
A long time ago there was an anti-hammer campaign. Just like the anti-phx thing. Or anti-SBEP.
fuck hammer

Well now you have gone and done it.. I hearby resume my previous possition as the head of the "FUCK YOU IF YOU BUILD IN HAMMER" Society...
I dont mind making a vmf of something you built in Gmod.. But dont "model" something out of props and say it has anything to do with gmod. What makes gmod gmod is standing in an unstable server enlessly phys-gunning and stackering and easy precisioning shit into a pile until it looks good. Then parenting it all while your friends shoot rockets over your head and threaten to crash the server.
"Building" in hammer is kind of like Getting a lapdance from your mother. Yes, she is a women but you know it is just not right.
fuck hammer
yes, First Lieutenant Muzz
Out of curiosity, What exactly do people expect as "Prizes" for these competitions? O.o
Better idea for a competition;
You are given a pile of junk to build with. Like for instance; someone were to spawn a bunch of shit and you have that to build with. The props would be completely random, and not just vanilla. You have a set time to build ANYTHING, and the props have to be shared among a bunch of people (like two or three, not a whole server full) once a player has 'claimed' props, you can't fuck with them to get a prop you want. You can ask them for one, but they are not required to give you jack shit if they don't want to.
You can use ANY tool for building, except for Adv duplicator or normal duplicator; we don't want anyone trying to duplicate props for an advantage.

I had one.. Everyone bring a contraption into a server everyone brings a tank or plane or train. .. Then it has to be dupped without constraints. The huge pile of props that is formed must then be turned into something else (boat?) in say 3 hours. Rewiring is allowed.
But you cant tell someone when this competition is being held.. Need to just DO IT!
I like Zeos's idea a lot too, but would you be allowed to use other wire tools besides the ones that may have fallen off the original?
Pff but zeos would put down a contraption, and suddenly you'd have a bajillion props to play with.. and probably really little ones xD
I really like Donut's idea, the whole pile of props thing, it's like back in the days of lego.
But I'm not sure about people sharing that pile, because, one guy could just physgun spam all the props before people grab one D=
Yep, epecially when everything is parented.
I <3 Donut's idea. Even though he yelled at me :'(
Use of wire is fine except Expressions, CPUs etc.etc... just "simple stuff"
All wire components must be hidden/invisible, and nocollided.

[editline]edit[/editline] [editline]edit[/editline] Woot wire fixed nvm
bahahahaha i love it.
Contests where you limit the use of a tool based upon complexity betray your skill or lack thereof.

Apparently it's the wire teams fault so blame those douche's
I feel sorry for infinity cause you guys are being mean to him, you bunch of meanies.
I'd rather absolutely No use of wire at all! Except maybe adv pod controller and wire Numpad. :P

Wire numpad to what?
Wire pod controller to what?
Those things have to go to something else wire or they are useless.
Is this for a fort or something? All I do is vanilla.

Wha? The pod controller wired to a numpad to control the vanilla tools' thrusters, wheels and things *shrug* For the sake of driving something around.

Because Garry was really thinking about the preservation of Wire when he wrote the new update. Something always gets broken, and it's always the mod developers' responsibility to update the mod.
I updated my Wire SVN and it was all fine.
Wha? The pod controller wired to a numpad to control the vanilla tools' thrusters, wheels and things *shrug* For the sake of driving something around.
Ah.. then say Numpad OUTPUT and I would understand.
I updated my Wire SVN and it was all fine.
Have to make sure the wire is up on the server as well.

Which server is that, anyways? o.O

You need to update the server side of wire as well. I updated my client and not my server and I got the console errors. I uploaded the newest wire from AOW's auto-install and everything is fine now.
