It's still considered as pirating. I'm sure your friend found a torrent, took it out of its .zip or .rar, and put it on a CD or usb and let you download it to your computer, or even on mediafire or any file sharing website, and you still downloaded it. first of all, my friend does have the steam version. i played it online with him when i went to house.
