Glad to see Garry's Mod is going back to Machinima again. Well here's some small tips from stuff I've seen over the years. -Don't make Music Videos unless you have the professional skill to do so. -Don't make sequels to machinimas.... For example... *War of The Servers 2: The Melon Blitz *Idiots of Garry's Mod 3 *School Days 2 You really should stay away from screwing with other titles. Now this doesn't mean you can't make something in the same concept area ,but don't go out ,and try to make sequels unless your helping the originally directors directly. -Miniseries = Long Run Production. If you want a good example of miniseries... *The Leet World *Red Vrs. Blue *Vae Victic - Making something about "Mingebags" is very controversial. Most players will expect it to be a bad movie or something based around nostalgic filming. A Mingebag Video Has Two Types... A Bad Video Like : Sonic the Hedgehog (look on newgrounds) or A Nostalgic Video Like: The Mingebag (Youtube... It's by a guy name corey) Now a break term has occured for machinima like War of The Servers which bases the mingebags as an enemy of Garry's Mod. If you aim to do a war flim don't use the same concept unless the idea takes place directly in that movie. (In otherwords... Your making something like Rusty Whispers) -War Films are meant to look shakey... You can make some jitters through editing software. Don't attempt to add the shake through Garry's Mod cause you'll end up screwing your film when you go to edit it. -Stand Still(AKA Photo Films) are very good films if you can take multiple pictures... A good example of this type would be ... *Yeah Toast!

I personally don't write a script I just keep an idea in my head and develop the video with the idea in mind. Then i develop the idea further as I go along.

I'll be honest, there are plenty of "Random" videos out to suit alot of people, you should try something else....

Yeah there is a lot of them , but 95% of them don't even reach the 1000 views and sink in the end of the internets. That's why i ask advices here , for don't fall in this category of videos.

Too many people try to make these random videos, they take very little effort, and their really doing nothing but over saturating YouTube with tons of Crap. My advice to you, would be to simply "Don't Do It" Make something Original, and take advantage of Contraptions.. Do something like [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNKxhMS2rl4"]Diplomacy[/URL] or [URL="http://www.youtube.com/user/SqueegyMackoy"]SqueegyMackoy[/URL]'s Movies.

Wezze, I recommend GodlyT's suggestion. IN addition, use Sony Vegas, no ABSOLUTELY NO HUD SHOULD BE VISIBLE, Catmull-Rom cameras should be used (and abused like me), The quality should be at least 480p-720p, and don't overuse static cameras or add boring material. Comedy is okay, it's overused but if done right can still get a laugh.
