computer settings for one, that's what you should start at if they're really low then the single most drastic improvement, up your Gmod video settings. If you intend to actually play it too and not just pose, or if your computer's a bit slower, just take pics, you can turn them down later, but for screenshots, you should have them somewhere near full. Also I'm hearing that there is some setting, jpeg quality it's called, that makes the saving quality better, not sure if this is in the editing phase, or in-game or what, but that should cut down on the pixelating. Not on the jagged lines though Then to top off, if you have the means and skills to edit pictures, you can improve the quality and/or mask the flaws in Photoshop or something of the sort.

Up all your graphics settings, set jpeg quality to 100.
Thanks for the advice, I'll try and see if it will help. Also I just want to ask what anyone thought of the posing or whatever.
Thanks for the advice, I'll try and see if it will help. Also I just want to ask what anyone thought of the posing or whatever.
I'll have to say, not all that great... The torso is tilting to an awkward direction, and the hand holding the gun is clipping. The faceposing's more than half decent though. Too much blur in the background in my opinion. I seem to be too picky on filtering than I should. That, or the vast majority of the screenshots being posted here are overly filter-raped... neither really rules out the other though
Yet again, another Picture brought to you by my Boredness! =D
Lovely graphics.
Yet again, another Picture brought to you by my Boredness! =D *well-posed pic of spy with an overly blurred enemy engie and sentry in the background*
Actually this could be well worth posting, at least in a bunch of pictures. The spy posing is very good. The motion blur in the background is just excessive though, and I see no reason the background should be moving relative to the spy, so gaussian blur should do it better (to achieve the effect of the lens of the camera being focused to the distance of the spy, leaving the background fuzzier, or the same with focusing eyes, although then the background would also be doubled). I'll just _have_ to do something with the embassador sometime. Too bad it has that engraving, and that it's "just a tad" too elaborately HUGE... cuts down on the possibilities Oh and before I forget, how do you get ragdoll parts to no-collide with each other? I tried to make alyx hold her .357 in a similar way in the pic above at first, but the hands wouldn't go closer to each other than about a half a thumb's length apart. Also, I was planning to make a pose of scout pinching the brim of his baseball cap, but that failed on many other levels but the no-colliding.
Hadn´t done anything in a while, also if anybody could give me some constructive critism it would be awesome!
*pic of bullteproof armored skeleton* Hadn´t done anything in a while, also if anybody could give me some constructive critism it would be awesome!
well easy on the blur for one.... is he spinning the gun, lol? Not to be harsh, but it doesn't look a lot like it if he is. more like just holding the gun from the middle, from what can be made out through the blur. also the stand just doesn't seem to belong... what's the skeleton doing? Just standing around spinning a gun and looking at the ceiling? if you want advice, mine would be have a clear idea and "point" to your screenshots.

I just mentioned it while saying I'd love to pose something with the embassador. thanks for the info, btw. Is there such a thing for HL2 and episodes' models too?

Is there such a thing for HL2 and episodes' models too?
I highly doubt it, since it always has been more difficult to pose with TF2 models instead of HL2 Characters, I'm not a modeler or anything, but I think their all on a different "Bone" structure (<-- I have no Idea what I'm talking about here but I heard about it in some Forums or something) and I guess it got on someones nerve and they made a new "Bone" system for the TF2 Characters, but you can try and search for a new "Bone" system or whatever it is, and if you find one, send me a link Please? Off topic: Does anyone know where I can get a better "Hand" model for the Citizens, there hands are just too low-poly-texture for me!
Due to "popular demand" I'll just be leaving this here
Due to "popular demand" I'll just be leaving this here *pretty fly picture to anyone with eyes and half a brain*
Oh come on. quit the martyr shit and flame the guy like everybody else. That picture is great and very much worthy of a thread of it's own.

I'm not new to the community, I just hadn't posed in a few months and I'm getting back into it, as my profile said I'm an alt, my posing never was perfect, still, it's no excuse for sloppy work.

I do see why you don't think that pic is worth a whole thread. It's a tad generic, and there's no obvious idea to it. The posing is very natural, though. BTW, how do I get the TF2 shotgun texture to work? I just get it with some sort of woodland camo... or then it's the one that's not spawning. What's the location of that exact shotgun? when searching for shotgun, I get three, one must be from CSS or something, one is the HL2 one and the remaining one should be TF2, but one won't spawn. I have TF2.
http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=755849 there you go
many thanks. I just unpack the .rar in the garry's mod folder in my steam account, right?
I didn't add lighting to the explosion and I didn't motion blur the plane. Eh, this is a half-arse picture for me.
Well I can see there's a lot of scenebuilding involved, that's for sure. The soldiers seem to be out of place, however, they stand out too much. Also the sky is too cramped up with stuff (cooling tower, heli and plane). At least the soldiers standing out could've been fixed with some editing, though, so it could be made "thread-worthy".

No posing, just bland screenshots of Neotokyo maps. I won't edit those.
