Instead of her body exploding, and thus creating a massive two-way portal, it generated inside her, and ended up only being one-way. Apparently her Xenomorph body and DNA was significantly different that it altered the ritual. Hence, when all these guys tried to get some, they were instantly teleported, trousers down nonetheless, to the Shadowfell. Were using a different, significantly less embarrassing means, to get into the Shadowfell, get our guys, kill the Necromancer, and get out alive! Dear god I have too much free time

Yeah, they started calling it the Shadowfell in 4E. I'll also be making 4E jokes throughout this three part comic (minions, fall damage, ongoing damage, critical hits and misses, etc.)
