ep2 and later eyes don't use pupil textures anymore. It's all controlled via eyeball.

You're half-right actually, but technically they're no discernible edge to the universe (at least in a quantum viewpoint), because the boundary of the universe, observable or not, is temporal. The further you would travel to the visible 'edge', the further back you would be time-wise, meaning that if you were to travel to about 93 billion lightyears out, you'd have to take into the rapid expansion of the universe caused by dark energy. In practice, you would go so far back that everything cosomologically known to you would increasingly red-shift away until you were almost at the point of where you were literally in nothing, not even Cosmic Background Radiation would be visible electronically. Reaching this supposed point would take more time than the universe has existed many times over.
TL;DR: Temporal Limitations and Dark Matter means you'd never make it close, the universe would probably have ceased to exist before then.
EDIT: Even before then, you'd probably just stop accelerating altogether due to entropy.
