Porting - converting from the games source files (usually has intact rigging and similar shenanigangs)
Ripping - grabbing the assets from the game during runtime - generally does not include model rigging, can be messy and a bunch of oher stuff.
Rigging - Assigning a mesh to a skeleton and weightpainting the various verts
Rigging for playermodels and NPC - same as rigging, except you must use one of the valve specific biped skeletons

Oh jesus, I had the best idea ever. Every year in November my dad goes with his friend to Upstate NY for hunting, his friend has a cabin in the woods where they stay. Now I just thought, what if I went with my dad, brought my laptop, installed Slender, and waited for them to go up on the mountains late at night leaving me at the cabin alone?
Now that is what I call never sleeping again
