You're not thinking of leaving that color bleeding effect in the movie are you? It looks horrible
I tuned it down after having noticed how the black diffusion was way too high on this scene. But otherwise, such an effect is needed for a more "film-like" look... I think your colour effects need work. Some places it looks OK but other places it's just icky.
No update last week, because it's holidays and I've been procrastinating like cra— no, actually, I'm processing the dialogue and planning shit.

Not only have you blurred the detail and removed contrast from an already low-contrast image, you've destroyed all the color definition and left the viewer with a kind of slushy brown. Films use things like color correction, but it's extremely rare for them to use a soft focus effect.
My map's lookin' good.

This is a bad screenshot to begin with, indeed. I'm going to reduce the second pass... 'cause there's a better variation of the same one a few seconds later.
Weekly update. Still progressing, but quite slow. I really ought to remember that with good ol' me, 50% of the work is having the courage to start making stuff.
Heh, your editor management skills are a lot less messy than mine. This is pretty ambitious, so I give you credit all ready- I would personally never even attempt to make something this long.
good stuff [editline]09:13AM[/editline] automerge
I'm progressing a lot this week, since it's all about dealing with Faceposer and very simple scenes... then, on top on that, 11/11 is a no-work-day :v:
You should edit things more together. Like not every clip needs its own channel.
You should edit things more together. Like not every clip needs its own channel.
There are reasons for that... such as blending audio from the clips themselves without having a fading on the video as well, but it's mainly for organization purposes. At the audio level, I've got different settings on every track; volume being the most important one, but also Track Compressor, Dynamics, Reverb, etc. So far, it's not scattered at all; everything's put on the fifth video track if possible, and for the sounds, it all depends on what I need to do with it.
sola_night It has a texture glitch here which greatly reduced the filming angles. you may notice that I never filmed the snow on the ground :p
You are missing blendmodulate texture. You can remove it at editing vmt or i can give it to you if i find it. That snowblend texture was "dragory/drag_blend_snow_to_stone".

You can extract it with pakrat. http://solidfiles.com/d/xu7h Place in: Materials/dragory
Bloody hell man, you're a life saver
REALLY looking foward to this.
Weekly update!
So I was editing/fixing some stuff tonight and, stumbling upon my own footage, thought: "darn it, what the hell happened with the shadows". Then I realized I can actually use Source properly if I want to. Oh well. Not that amazing, but still: [img_thumb]http://maxofs2d.free.fr/public/ghosts/ghosts_wanderer.png[/img_thumb] (yes, that is motion blur)
Weekly update! Smells like Valve Time spirit... as in, delay. Dunno yet.
RAGEEEE!!! I wish to see this...NOW!
RAGEEEE!!! I wish to see this...NOW!
If you wait, it will come.
Experiments. http://maxofs2d.free.fr/public/ghosts/ghosts_colorcorrection.png The lowest one was the chosen result.
The effects look top notch here.
The effects look top notch here.
I have an even more wonderful render lying around, and I barely resist the temptation to post it; it's a huge spoiler...
I really like the editing in this. I do believe the blurring should be reduced a tad just so viewers can make out details much better, but of course I really do love what this is turning out to be.

Looks good. I agree with you about the low res textures. It sometimes can be an eyesore. But with a little work you can draw attention from that.
I liked the third one. keeps a dark tone but brings out some light colors too.
The problem when working with color correction is that once you've got something that looks good, on a particular frame, it might look HORRIBLE in movement.
