You don't remember the old days, when we had lots of mods on contraptions, and on any one page at least 3 people were banned, usually more. Almost every page had either karbine, maximash, mamba, butler, etc getting banned at least once. For instance, at least 2 karbines have been perma'd for dumb shit, at least 1 mamba (I think 2, didn't wittman get perma'd?), etc.
Nobody's going "OMG WE'RE FLOODED WITH TROLLS" so we're pretty much fine on our own. It'd be like taking Xanex if you don't have anxiety, or Vicodin if you don't have a pain problem.
