Ugh, all right. Hate Gmod.org but ok. Edit when it's up. EDIT:
Does this go directly into the addon folder? or do we have to do something weird with it?
No, Why would it? It's not an addon. It's content goes into your data/adv_duplicator fodler.
No, Why would it? It's not an addon. It's content goes into your data/adv_duplicator fodler.
Why don't you download it, then tell me if it LOOKS like what goes into the adv dup folder?
Why don't you download it, then tell me if it LOOKS like what goes into the adv dup folder?
It's two .txts and a dummy cfg. Where do you think it goes? If you ever have something that goes in the addons folder, it will have an info.txt.
Why don't you download it, then tell me if it LOOKS like what goes into the adv dup folder?
Open the text file. One of the textfiles is said to be an adv dupe file in the beginning.
Well now I've just lost interest.
Well now I've just lost interest.
Yay a benefit to the project! But seriously, has anyone tried my hover chassis with some props? I didn't experiment with it much after I made it, so I want to know how it works under load.
Hmm, when I make something hover, I try to ensure it's differentially controlled, so, more or less PID control (See the wiki article on that). But as for sticking to a track, I'm not sure momentum will keep you on the track when going upside down etc, I spent about two hours with a pad of paper drawing graphs of circle to try and write an expression which would maintain a constant distance from a surface, and to be perfectly honest, it's more than vexing. My current thinking is based on predictive analysis of the track, which is flawed at best. Ah, hold on, what seems to work is where you allow partial height control partial distance control, allow the two systems priorities based on how far extreme their error is, so gyro's and thrusters and rangers and e2 galore.

When playing wipeout pure, you'll notice that none of the tracks have loops or go upsidedown. in Wipeout Pulse, i've noticed that tracks that go upsidedown and loop da loop have a pad which magnetically adheres the ship to it's surface.. The obvious solution is to make a track with massive banks and quick barrell rolls n loops, but no lengthy sections to allow ships to fall off.
I figured out a way to make a platform to resist angles. I placed a GPS at the front, rear, and sides of a hover platform and used a simple subtract gate to determine the difference in Z height from the front to the rear for one equation, and the difference in Z height from the left side to the right side. This information was useful enough to add resistance to whatever angle by feeding the difference into a thruster that pushes the platform against the angle of the slope. My only problems is that I need to figure out a way to add air resistance so that I can control the platform from endlessly drifting at will.
My only problems is that I'm not using Mac_Trekkie's hover base.
Fixed it for ya :V
Fixed it for ya :V
This is what you would expect from a 14 year old. Your attempt to falsely quoting me is juvenile and rude.
Give noobs the ability to hover and look what they do with it
bitching and moaning
You are the one who keeps... explaining how you cannot do what my base already does. Rather annoying to see people attempting to create such complex problems to such an easy task. But fine, don't do it the easy way. Also didn't you already say that you had lost interest in this thread? (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Benji))
I lost interest in your methods, not the thread.
Oh I see. When you could not install a simple Advanced Duplicator file, you got butthurt and quit. Well if you want I can just give you the code and you can make it yourself :)

Half the fun of gmod is building your own stuff - simply taking someone elses contraption is not the solution. BTW how do you insert images in the 'click to view' box?
insert image into media tags
Xro, your like, the king of Slightly Off Topic, arn't you?
I don't see why ya couldn't just paste the E2 in here n be done with :P
You know, I should have thought to say something like this a while ago... oh, and I think I figured out my air resistance problem. Malawar has an air brake stool. I DL'd that and will test soon. Once I get a working base platform, the real fun will be fine tuning it with a detailed body on it! :)

It's better since most servers have it.
*nod* Any stools that you can't find on a public server would be pretty useless though D=
Yeah, I'm gonna argue that I built my own differentially controlled hover platform, it's not as stable or efficient as what most peoples are I'm sure, but I'm happy with it, and proud because it's my own work and I could write it a hundred times without having to check someone else's opinions. As for airbrake, lower mass/size ratio seems sensible. Or you can cheat and use a non lifting hoverball and stick resistance on it. Also add me viscous.

YOu should add me, i don't think my invite is working right o.O
I'm sure you could use e2 instead of an airbrake. It's better since most servers have it.
If you know of some e2 airbrakes then post it. I'm interested.
If you know of some e2 airbrakes then post it. I'm interested.
Theres a guy named KickAssKyle on the GGG server's i've seen running around with a hover Tank.. i don't know if it utilizes the same technique were going after in this thread, but it can't hurt to ask.
If you know of some e2 airbrakes then post it. I'm interested.
Not an e2 but it could ofcourse be made into one if you try. Wire a bunch of thrusters to a speedometer, to you know, slow it down. Easy.
