if you do it right it'll look like Simple DoF, only much much better. it can be difficult to figure out the UI, but you've just got to fiddle with it long enough and the result will be well worth the effort.

The soldier on the right's pose needs more work. Look at the left arm. The smoke goes straight up; that's something you should change. Make it loop left 'n' right. And I think I see some aliasing.
First pose in 3 years, was testing something, don't hate.

I think you needed to zoom in a bit more. the DoF feels kind of off when it's affecting the whole left half of the image.

Here is the material. It's an entire addon for some material that gets added to the material list that I labeled 'plastic' (which is just a blank white texture with phong added to it).

you didn't need to make a whole new one, GMod already comes with a plastic material that works perfectly fine.

The current ones are a flat matte texture and a half cubemapped one, which neither comes out looking like plastic.

I don't think the material Angry Man used was the "plastic" one, I think it was called "shiny" or something to that effect.

He used the flat texture, otherwise they would of came out looking like chrome.

First texture is just phong, second is phong + rimlighting, third is phong + rimlighting + tf2 ligthwrap. I think the second one looks best.
