Trying out a blood and glowing eyes effect. I think I made the blood too bright on his helmet and the guys head

Blood is much more dark and viscous in real life, unless you've only got a cut on your lip.
The "glowing eyes" just look like a reflection. You need to duplicate that shape and add a gaussian blur to it to give it a bloom/spill over effect to illustrate a glow. As well Cone is right that blood is very dark, but it depends mostly on it's density. It should vary between darker and lighter spots where the blood thickens and thins, but yours has an unnatural shimmer/glow.
The most depressing part about GMOD these days is how sexy all of the ragdolls are yet how shit a lot of the scenery is. Things like the ungodly low-res textures on that rock-piece in front of them in the last pose make me sad inside.
We need someone to recode an AMT (Advanced Material Tool) tool...
We need someone to recode an AMT (Advanced Material Tool) tool...
I have no idea what that is but I want it. EDIT: Okay so this is a really poor example and I way overdid it to get the point across, but basically it's going to be a wide glow around the edges and as it concentrates more towards the center it will become stronger and I like to shift things towards white and away from whatever color the glow may be (I picked cyan here just to illustrate, obviously an artistic decision you can make) I think perhaps the real issue here with any sort of glow is that you haven't exactly set up your scene to optimize the whole "glowing eyes" caveat. It works best in a darker environment that can really flaunt it (glowing lights in broad daylight just aren't as impressive), so if it were possible to light your scene so that it could still have brighter areas but give a darker overall feel it would work much better. As well if you would have placed some lights on the actual eyes to create proper lighting it would be much more convincing. You can even use the color tool with alpha set to 0% to make the light itself invisible but it will still cast light so you can insert the "face" (or flare) of the glow yourself and have more freedom. Thanks for the advice, I'll try to make a better edit and pose tomorrow and see how it goes.

I know I do this regularly (I'll take breaks from GMOD from months or years at a time when it's gotten stale) and upon return there's always something out there to get me interested in again. And of course the nature of posing means it's not really age specific either, which is great, a thirty year old can be a minge and a 15 year old can create a masterpiece, and of course the subject matter can be immature or tasteful as the mind can produce. Be prepared to spend hours playing around or looking at tutorials before you find something that you really think is "good" and not "good enough" if you plan to improve.
I have no idea what that is but I want it.
The only tool that was able to search in your entire textures directories. As a scenebuilder that was the best tool I ever had since I could "reskin" on the go ground textures, rocks and... everything. Breen found dead Ignore this picture if you don't like it (which I'm sure you don't)
Breen found dead
Holy shit congratulations, you've reached a new low of effort-lessness. I didn't know you could make something so bad, you literally just spawned a breen ragdoll, slapped some blood on it and applied some shitty filters. Congratulations on bringing a new possible low for gmod screenshots.
re-skinned the BSAA to look like blacklight troops from prototype :v:

My graphic card was broken. Now, time to do some posing !
I used the Panther I/II to represent a vehicle that I kind of based off it. And the Blacklight soldiers and the soldiers in the water/riding on the tank are from different dimensions along with the destroyed tank from the Empires mod. The whole thing is supposed to be about a massive multi-dimensional war between two Human alliances(The Allies and the Pact) and the Combine.

[t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14263778/civilprotection.jpg[/t] Tried a dirty battered kind of thing I over exaggerated a lot with the dirt on the combine, I gotta learn when to stop adding to the effect
Probably shouldn't have waited until right before the Gmodocalypse to reinstall 3.17GBs worth of stuffs, only to use mostly standard source models in my first honest scenebuild. I'm hopeless at lighting, particularly getting the damn shadows to work. I've heard there's something I have to edit via console, but since forgotten.
