Depends how they're used, I've never used NPCs myself but I do feel keeping the ones that are already around in the map is okay.

I had an 80s moment while testing some of the cleaned L4D2 maps.

Posing is probably a little off, but I didn't notice it untill way later in Photoshop.
Also terrible resolution resulted in some rough edges in the last one, but again I didn't notice it until it was too late.

It's a very nice picture,but there is some aliasing on his face,and the model looks low-quality.A good tip is applying 0,2 - 0,5 of Gaussian Blur where there is ailasing,will make it way smoother.
