Wasn't the UCP a failure? I remember reading somewhere that the Army started issuing MultiCam replacements till they could phase it out completely.

It was a failure because they marketed it as UCP and not AMP (Afghan Mountain Camo). It has proven to be far more effective than any other pattern in the Afghan Mountains, because it was designed to be used in the Afghan Mountains.
Still, some douchebag decided to market it as Universal, so naturally it would fail.
Pff, corporate pattern is where it's at.
