So is the queen, it doesn't matter.
I think the fastest vehicle I have ever built was a PHX square tube with a translucent pyramid in the front to make it look a little realistic. Then I stuck 4 thrusters on the back all weighing the same as the box. There was nothing else on it so to get it in the air, I launched it off a suspended platform. It want 118mph only cause that was the speed limit.
I went to 88 MPH then I heard BOOM BOOM BOOM KABOOM and I was in 1955
Velocity is measured as a change of position within a given time interval. Thus when the game registers you as traveling from Point A to Point B and back again, regardless of the fact that you may not have really visited all the space between. It still counts that as velocity, because velocity is a change of position. So yes. Teleporting does count as velocity, however, simply teleporting doesn't count as a particular velocity. Say if you teleported 3 meters in one second, you have traveled at 3 meters per second. If you teleported further, say 3000 meters in one second, you have just traveled at 3000 meters per second. The velocity is related to how far you jump or move in a second. The source engine uses discrete collision detection. My early tests had me zooming about at 4000 mph which is... 6437.376 kph. At that speed you can and will, plant yourself some 10 or 20 feet (like 3 to 6 meters) into a wall. I know, I have. You don't need nocollide word. One moment you are zooming AT the wall, the next you are IN the wall and unable to move. That's about how it goes. All you have to do is travel fast enough that when your position is calculated next game tick 10ms-15ms, you have moved past through the edge of an object because you covered all that space in such a short time. This is, I'm sure, WHY valve set the speed limit so crazy low at 113mph, on the other hand it's also 2000 game units per second which is a nice lovely round number. :) But low enough that no one is going to find themselves embedded in a wall.
I found out that if you break the speed limit, you're dropped from the server you're on and your game ctds.
I went to 88 MPH then I heard BOOM BOOM BOOM KABOOM and I was in 1955
How many jigawatts?
Did we break the barrier yet
I do believe we put up a vote. All in favor of saying Hunta stinks and should stop talking about how great his country is and to stop talking about how bad America is say I.
I never said America sucks, I said your units do and maybe you should strop practising chauvinism. Edit: ah just read that again, I also never not once said new zealand was awesome.
I agree with Hunta, the decimal system is better imo.
I'm for Decimal. More usable in science.
The other system is only intrinsically useful if the only measuring tool is your self. But then that's only true if your body fits the right proportions to make it useful. If you have mechanical measuring devices on hand, either can be done, but the cleanly convertible metric is great particularly with scientific stuff. I still like the other since I happen to be the right size to be several units of measure myself in the other system. Makes life easy to just use my arms or feet to whatever to measure distances somewhat cleanly. But that's just me. Like I know I walk at 5 feet per second (5.00 feet per second) this is easier to work with than the uneven metric equivalent.
This was an awesome idea until trolls started arguing about measurements, really guys?
shut up, valve is an american company, if you don't like it, tell crytek to make garrysmod, and then run around with your metric bullshit. 50 cal sounds so much better than your shit. 9 millimeter? what is that shit dog, guess what us americans call it? A mofucking pistol. Up your join douchebag. Miles are cooler. Fucking look at David Miles. Yards are cool too. I measure my dick in yards. Feet are awesome, with out it, thered be no 5 dollar foot long, just some shitty 5 dollar centimeter bullshit. To sum things up, shut the fuck up. [editline]10:03PM[/editline] WE DRIVE ON THE RIGHT Side of the road, beacause passengers get out on the right, safer for them. In fucking UK The driver gets out first, presumably the male, and lets the female get out on the dangerous side, possibly dying in an accident. Once again we fucking prevail, and you don't know the fuck you're talking about.
Haha, for some reason I pictured you as Penn Jillette for a moment.
Did we break the barrier yet
No, get a bulldozer

Anyone got a fast car or somthing I am in need of one
I bet a lot of people in nz were glade to change from penny and pound to dollar. Some cars have the drivers seat in the center :)
Let's keep it like this, right is right, left is right.
This one amuses me.
The specified maximum diameter of an unfired .50 BMG bullet is 0.510-inch (13.0 mm)
As you can see, the .50 cal is not even in inch measurements, but fits perfectly into millimeters. Also, as you may notice, this is only 4 millimeters bigger than a 9 millimeter. Also, Gerog Luger, inventor of the 9mil is Austrailian. He presented the bullet to both the British government and the American government. It is the SINGLE most popular cartridge size in the entire world. On another note, what is that language you were typing in? I was barely able to decipher it. It looks like some offshoot of English. Please let me translate.
50 cal sounds so much better than your shit. 9 millimeter? What is that shit? Guess what us Americans call it? An [untranslateable] pistol. Up your [I'm not even sure what a (join) is] douchebag.
Oh, and one more thing. That entire post was so arrogant and superior it made my face hurt. Just because us Americans use a different measuring system, it doesn't make us better or worse than another country and their measurement system.
The fastest vehicle I ever built in Garrysmod was a bathtub with many little thrusters at 10,000 force. The fastest I ever gone was about 90 mph or 144.84 km/h. It was made in a later version of GMOD 9, and yes there was Wiremod then!
to break light speed on the map gm_infinitive(or whatever its called) you need to go across the map corner to corner in about .0121411 seconds(which might be possible with enough power) maybe using all the possible tools with wire and normal(thrusters,e2,etc.) maybe even some crazy stuff like putting turrets with high force on the back or making a slider on the vehicle so that you KNOW it will be going directly in a straight line.Maybe even use elastic, hydralics, anything hat pulls or pushes. Plus turn sv_cheats on and do sv_maxvelocity 9999999999999999999999999999999999 in conosle (might not need that many nines but whatever.
If you travel faster than light and turn around, you will see your light-self coming at you but you will already be where you are wtf
If you travel faster than light and turn around, you will see your light-self coming at you but you will already be where you are wtf
No, common misconception, if you turned around you would see notthing because you are traveling faster than the light waves, and the light waves you catch up on are hitting the back of your head.
Nardix actually got up to quite some good speeds on my server... :v:
Using Jinto's speed addon, I took a pretty crappy little car chassis I had and pushed it to 430MPH or so. the resulting black hole crashed the server :\
As you can see, the .50 cal is not even in inch measurements.
This one amuses me. What you don't seem to know is that .50 cal = 0.50 inches. It is inch measurements.
