I see! I hurt the feelings of the FP screenshot community (some of them) by pointing out that we GMod posers are laughed at in the real 3D community. I realize now this was a mistake.
When you lads criticized my comic, I was merely trying to say I know Gmod is not a serious posing tool as Poser, 3D max and alike. This was my point. Source is a gaming engine for crying out loud.
And still trying to figure out how me taking my self and my comic here NOT serious makes me self-righteous. Last time I looked up the term, it was the fucking opposite. (Anyone want to elaborate on that?)
Or was it that you felt personally attacked by my classification of Gmod as a posing tool and in your haste to get offended (my pics don't suck kind of thing) forgot to read what I actually said?
it seems like if anyone has hurt feelings it's you :v: and your just scrambling to sound superior.

Yes yes you got me. In tears here.

listen Rastifan.
Newsflash. All 3d posers are laughed at in the 3d community and usually lumped together regardless o fthe tool they use. Daz poser, gmod sfm for static poses and minor fringe ones like xnalara. That's because as far as the 3d community goes, unless you actually produce a large amount of the content yourself, there's not much to discuss.
Similar notions exist in the comic community for posed comics as opposed drawn. Admittedly daz poser is usually disliked the most due to how bad it makes everything look.
That does not mean you have a carte blanche to pass of bad work as good or even demanding respect for said bad work from the internal community just because the external one won't recognise it anyway.
On top of that, the majority of your issues, are issues that would exist regardless of the tool you used. It doesn't matter if you use gmod or actually digitally paint the comic yourself when you have problems with layouts, compression standard lightning and natural posing. The only thing that that shows, is that the comic is bad.
Now it wouldn't be bad directly if you were actually open to suggestions and to a certain level stopped defending the shortcomings of your work. You do the right first step of recognising that the work is subpar, but then instead of making sure ot doesn't happen again you start making excuses along the lines of, that it is your intention and that it doesn't matter anyway since the tool is not recognised.

Come on wraithcat. I just explained it. I am not defending anything. And believe me the comic layout is the last on my list I would defend. I am decent at editing. I know better that using excuses.
I posted this for fun. It got me a lot of positive attention elsewhere, and from good comic writers them selves.
They saw past the layout and the poor presentation and loved the effort I did to cram a story in to a few pics. They loved the mood and the (and here is the achilles heel of FP) the sexiness.
I was forced to sensor the last panel, which ruined the comic in my eyes.

Sort of yes. But try this for a fit. Posted this on a 3D site http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/247/7/2/the_love_of_elves_by_rastifan-d5dkg9r.jpg
Some people loved the mood and the light and wanted to know how to create it in Poser, 3D max, Daz, Lightwave and so one. Guess what happen what I told them this was Gmod?
In the vein of trying to appeal to a calmer, nicer atmosphere in a thread that should have died by now (even the author wants it to), I am purposefully going off-topic.
I have to agree with wraithcat in one point made as an example: GMod comics are extremely frowned upon by just anyone artistic or self-entitled who is not a part of GMod communities. Not that I can complain too much, but, despite the approval of notorious Concerned author Chris Livingston and even Marc Laidlaw himself, and being apparently good enough to get a post exclusively for it on Kotaku, I still saw a lot of comments shooting it down just because it's not a drawn comic. Granted, it also doesn't help that, due to the subject matter and the perceived (although fair) notion that it's too similar to Concerned, it can easily fall under the label of "fan fiction", which carries a lot of negative connotations itself. So, despite all the work put into it and a layout style that, modesty aside, has been usually praised, most people just write it off with unflattering labels.
To be fair, while there have been numerous truly excellent GMod comics (which you all probably know of), there's also been a lot of utter crap that just diminishes the term. I'm not being an elitist here, I'm just saying what we all know - getting started in GMod comics is very easy, so, naturally, less skilled efforts come around, and some of them can be truly terrible. I always try to offer constructive criticism in all cases, no matter how much of a misstep their first attempt is, and usually people are friendly enough to give it a chance, but the harm's done by then.
I've also been described by a friend as ambitious for sharing my comics around a broader audience, from various non-GMod related forums to, in the future, Kotaku comments and self-made TAY posts. It's not a matter of ambition, though - while I was highly surprised and happy to see what the generally good reception I got, I only did it because there's no place for comics anymore, something I wish to fix in the near future, which forces me to go looking for an audience. You guys are great and I can't stop praising you for the friendly reception to my comics, but there's not just as much interest as in the "old days", so I try to get more attention from all places, not just here, to mixed results so far. Mostly because, and this is the point I want to make, anything created with GMod is generally frowned upon from its bad reputation, despite the efforts of many talented creators. Google "Gmod" and you'll see what I mean.
My apologies if I've gotten too off-track, but feel free to reply to me and maybe stop fighting so much, because it's getting ridiculous.
Sorry, but if your story boils down to a world where women dress like sluts and it ends with two people who never met who are about to fuck ('warm scene', uhu) then are you surprised people don't like it here?
That's not a good story.
That's the plotline of a porno.

The net is bombarded with crappy comic stuff made by 12 years old's. Hence Gmod's bad rep. It over shadows the good stuff from people who utilize Gmod in the right way.
Your stuff is good, but that is not what comes up on a google search. Which makes our former discussion that more relevant.

so fucking deep i'm gonna need a bathysphere
so fucking deep i'm gonna need a bathysphere
Yes Joazzz I got it. You hate it. It did not have violence, blazing guns or blood in it. Just a underlying message of tenderness and compassion in a brutal world.
I don't think you understood the story.
I perfectly understood the story, I think you're just delusional about it.
A few fancy words can't hide the fact that it's smut.
i like how you think in absolutes
if it doesn't have explosions and carnage it has to have tits and sex
So what is better you think. Tits and ass or a brain splattered all over the screen to the applause of the violence monkeys?
Tits and ass or a brain splattered all over the screen to the applause of the violence monkeys?
I'd rather have less of both of those and more in-between. Tits and ass are objectifying and misogynistic, extreme violence as you describe it desensitizes people to the real deal.
Mind you, my current series does have plenty of shooting and metrocops dying to little fanfare, but it's no more violent than Indiana Jones or Star Wars. It just has a little more blood effects, otherwise it wouldn't fit the Half-Life world.
(I'm not going back to my comic because me-me-me, I just want to explain that I'm not being a hypocrite)
I perfectly understood the story, I think you're just delusional about it.

Well it was not meant as such. To bad you did not get the meaning. If it was smut I wanted, I would go for a porn pose.
Well it was not meant as such. To bad you did not get the meaning. If it was smut I wanted, I would go for a porn pose.
Just because you didn't mean for it to be doesn't mean that it isn't.
Replace the fact that women apparently have to dress like sluts because the world is so rough to them with let's saaay... the fact that elves aren't well-liked among humans. The main character could instead be an elven woman in armor hiding her face under a hood, walking past the guards while they're distracted with the rider on the lion. Now she's in the inn, the lesbian thing works I guess but again it adds to the whole smut thing, a different but similar theme could be that she's hoping to find more of her kind as company, which could be the other woman. The last scene is them sitting at the table, laughing and sharing stories while drinking their booze and having a meal, instead of them halfnaked on a bed about to go baboink with eachother, and you have your 'warm scene'.
Tadaa, almost exactly the same story, but it's not smut because you shifted the focus slightly.
So what is better you think. Tits and ass or a brain splattered all over the screen to the applause of the violence monkeys?
watch out guys it's an anti-violence moral guardian who happens to advocate obscenity and sex games and possibly the objectification of women

Moral? I hate the term. It is subjective. Gives people a reason to think they are better than others and act like ass holes. Just like you did now.
And I like this!
anti-violence moral guardian
Can you muster up a rational explanation why this is wrong? I mean the anti violence.

So you can't answer. Got it. Conclusion!
- Rast hates violence. Fuck him and his poses. Is to much love.
yo Rastifan i know you think this story is the hypest shit, but if the first thing you tell me about your main character is that they're a lesbian rogue who steals people's shit and inexplicably has sex with random strangers, then your plot has all the artistic merit of a game of FATAL. i'm surprised you didn't roll for anal circumference in all honesty

Ahh I should not have posted this comic here. It is impressive how you all manage to completely misunderstand it. No offence intended Cone, but you don't get it.
well could you enlighten us and tell what there is to get

Two people connecting in a hard brutal world. Seriously Joazzz, stop asking stupid questions.
Two people connecting in a hard brutal world.
and suddenly sex
you could make a buck in the porn industry
Two people connecting in a hard brutal world. Seriously Joazzz, stop asking stupid questions.
they "connect" literally within seconds of meeting each other? all that happens is they stare at each other for a second or two without ever actually talking, then sex. either that's the most soulless, mechanical justification for boobs i've ever heard, or this is just porn. either way this story has not the slightest bit of artistic merit to its name.
God, this discussion is infinitely more amusing than the comic itself.
that's how people work, right? you just look at someone gormlessly for a bit then you touch their boobs?
and suddenly sex
Yes boom, instant sex... FP is paranormal. Giving me credit for poses I haven't done yet^^
