I can't remember where but i can remember it mentioning that it was mainly synths and other alien hybrids, but striders weren't developed till later(they'd have no use on xenian planets anyway)

That doesnt make them useless, they are infact pretty powerful(I mean they can heal mortal wounds, teleport you to random places and fucking burst your ass with a lightening).
But enought derailing guys this thread is not about vorts :P
