if your doing 1280 by 720, make sure the pixel size is 4:3 (0.9091) and you're good to go.
The guidelines say to use 16:9
The guidelines say to use 16:9
-snip- listen to Max.
The resolution is still 16:9, the pixel size will be 4:3, so the final render will still be in 16:9 format.
NO NO NO NO NO NO A pixel size of 0.9 means that a pixel is NOT square So you will end up with a resolution of 1280*720 but a frame that is NOT 16:9 Anamorphic resolutions are used only on TV for various reasons, and Vegas is set up to use them by default, and I tell you — DON'T. It's the same thing with the NTSC framerate, really; don't use 29,97, use 25 or 30
The guidelines say to use 16:9
1280x720 = 16:9 aspect ratio. when you render your video select wmv format then select the 5mbps bit rate video with 1280x720 25fps after that click custom and click the video tab and set render quality best and your good to go.
go to file -> properties and do this
1.0 Aspect Ratio is the way to go :P Also, is bad that I'm going to be using 24fps in my clip?
1.0 Aspect Ratio is the way to go :P Also, is bad that I'm going to be using 24fps in my clip?
The thing with running at a low FPS in movies is that it makes action scenes look more gritty, and adds to the feel. When you run it at a low FPS in games it just makes it look like your computer can't run the game well.
Also less frames for me to work on for special effects XD
Also, is bad that I'm going to be using 24fps in my clip?
very if we don't want to get jerky things that means we'll have to downsample everything to 24fps in the final master 25 would be the absolute minimum TBH
very if we don't want to get jerky things that means we'll have to downsample everything to 24fps in the final master 25 would be the absolute minimum TBH
Well somebody should've said something :P Re-rendering my videos now :suicide:
very if we don't want to get jerky things that means we'll have to downsample everything to 24fps in the final master 25 would be the absolute minimum TBH
You're saying that EVERYONE will have to make their videos 24fps? If we're all exporting them separately than we won't. And I would be inclined to believe that there's not a lot of difference between 24 and 25fps.
I'm going to try to explain things as simply as possible We are going to assume that the episode will be 25fps If the video you sent is at 24fps, ONE FRAME will be dropped EACH SECOND (and trust me, that's noticeable). If the episode is 30 (or even worse, 29,997 fps), you can imagine where this is leading us 25/30 is pretty much the standard for Internet video, but for HD it's 25fps so you should all re-render your stuff to 25fps
go to file -> properties and do this
really? I've been using 0.9 all the time and i still end up with a 16:9 final product.
whats the best recommended aspect plus framr8 that you would suggest?
Count me in, I've been looking for some way to release some kind of media, but I haven't been able to get my crap together to make a full-length machinima.
really? Why frameblending is bad none of this ghosting can happen if your source footage is the EXACT SAME FRAMERATE you recorded it at (eg 25 to 25, 30 to 30... and you can't record at 29,97 in Source anyway :p)
Also, when recording the game, set it to window mode and choose 1280x720 resolution, and 16:9 aspect ratio. If you do, you won't need to do any stretching in sony vegas. Well that's what i usually do and i always end up with nice HD on youtube.

Ok, so right now im testing out what it would look like mixing Gmod and real life for my movie, heres the green screen test: Any suggestions on how i can improve it?

Also he looks flat, kind of like Paper Mario. If you can get a spherize-like effect on him I'd suggest doing it. Cool, though. I might make something like that now.
what's really important about any greenscreening is having the perspective of both layers match up that includes positioning of the camera, its angle but also its fov (ie the zoom)
So being like half a week late is acceptable?
So being like half a week late is acceptable?
I would say no.. there's SO much time to work on it dude, over a month.
I would say no.. there's SO much time to work on it dude, over a month.
I thought it was due the 23rd?
I would say no.. there's SO much time to work on it dude, over a month.
JUNE 23, not July anymore. (i suggest you go a bit faster if you've been waiting this long.) It would be easier if Gmod had some in game chroma key preview, where you have your green-screen, and then you load an avi to go under the green-screen.
